Nothing super special. Just some head swaps. Enjoy.

One of the NCOs gets some news from the new artillery spotter/observer.

Side note: Anyone happen to notice that the spotter has the same right shoulder insignia as the DAK troops?

Thanks guys. 8)

Just a word of advice to anyone planning on doing swaps with BOB, BOB II, or OMG heads; be prepared to trim the neck stem/bulbs. The socket on the DAK bodies isn't very deep. While that makes for easy head removal, it complicates adding new heads to the mix. I had to trim nearly the entire bulb off in order to get the neck to sit flush with the torso. I suspect any of the heads from the current release should interchange without too much fuss.(this is an educated guess based on the new figures I've encountered ths far. Arty Spotter, US Bazooka guy).

schizuki wrote:Cool stuff. Not sure how much of a realism nut you are (I'm not), so it might not matter to you that Panzerfausts weren't available yet when the Germans were in Africa. Just an FYI if it matters.
I figured as much, but wasn't entirely sure. For the record, the 251 Ausf D Hanomag wasn't produced until after the North African campaign either. So it's all good. 8)

Nice work, I like it.
About your side note...I've noticed that 6 of the 7 German figures have that insignia, the Otto (camo) figure is the only one without it.
The insignia is called the Gebirgsjager (mountain hunter) arm badge. The flower is Edelweiss the yellow you see around it represents mountaineering rope. It was issued to all qualified members of army mountain troop units. I didn't know that, I had to look it up.

Outstanding research Normandy. Thanks for sharing. :D

Mountain trained troops in the desert. How ironic is that?
