Those New Yorkies are pretty smart. How have you been Digger? I am sure the weather is much better then the last time I saw you.

Actually hearing "directly" from Mike, Jason, Roy & company (via TKO) etc.. is a big win in my book.

As a result of that level of interaction, some of the stronger contributors around here even had figures named after themselves if I recall..

Wouldn't that be great!? :D

Private Mike "Grunt" Anderson..
Yeah! ;)

I also like the occasional contests. Good marketing and keeps things exciting. If anyone was going to throw product or dollars at something, I would recommend they back up Kamikazes efforts. He's doing a great job promoting the hobby and the scale.

Since I'm a team player, I'll bite the bullet and accept the free 21st "Platoon" items to review.
It will be a tough task but I'll handle it with grace and admiration.

It the fact that the companies have gotten lot of ideas and marketing information from this board and it’s members.

I don't like the quad 50 on the trailer. If you guys give it to me I will pass. But I WILL take the new Tiger II. I will take it and look it over and give you back a critique on the soundness and integratey of the product

I am happy to pay for my 1:18, so long as they keep making it. If they have to send us free stuff then we're all in trouble..
I can comment on the "modeler" side of that comment. I started off building scale models LONG before these types of display pieces had been available. When I picked up the first 21st offerings (P51 and 109) and put pictures on one of my 'net haunts (plastic model site) they were greeted with comments like "nice toy" and "I only display things I build". Now here we are some 6yrs later and on these same sites, guys go crazy over the 21st and BBi offerings, many of which followed my lead and now customize/super detail these pieces.

21st hit the nail on the head with their 1/32 aircraft offered in "kit" form, and let me tell you, those babies are HOT on several forums I visit. Roy Sutherland is certainly a big reason for this as he made his niche in scale modeling way before he started working for 21st, and he's a tremendous influence, on the creative side, helping to shelf the pieces we've seen as of late. I've traded/sold roughly 20 of the these kits (the Corsair being the most popular) and folks can't get enough. So my point is that model related sites are pretty much already onboard with 1:18/1:32 display pieces such as those discussed on this very site.

I have seen the future and kits are in it. 1/32, 1/18, 1/6.

As a 1/6 guy I can say quite a few kits are available now. Even pieces like artillery have some assembly and some halftracks and tanks traditional kits. You build the kit and customize the heck out of it with a ton of small customizers pasts and accessories.......yesterday, it was anounced, with pictures a all metal wrecker attachment for a DID or 21C Kettengrad. This thing actually works and for around $90 will definately be on one of my Ketts as soon as it is released. The market never ends. Something always comes up to keep my wallet always open.

I can see 21C offering kits in 1/18 in the future. With a kit, reviews are doubly important so freebies are important to get these reviews.

With our 1/18 limited market of, "out of the box ready to display", who needs a review? You like it and buy it or pass it by.
