I had the privilege once again to participate in a special display for our annual Tri-State Warbird Museum Gala Fundraiser using 1/18 models. Our theme this year was a celebration of the P-51D Mustang.
I wanted to give a special thanks to Razor17019 and Coreyeagle48 for their gracious assistance and support. Corey provided two excellent framed prints of his fine photography as door prizes and Mark loaned his Tuskegee "Bunnie" for the display.
Here are some pictures of the display:
John Voll was a lesser known of the Mustang Aces because he was from the 15th AF and not one of the famous 8th AF guys. He had more confirmed kills than any of the 357th "Yoxford Boys" and was the leading ace of the 15th. He hailed form Goshen, OH, just a few minutes away from our Museum.
The "Yoxford Boys" of the 357th FG. These three pilots were regulars on the air show circuit back in the 90's. Unfortunately, "Pete" Peterson passed away shortly after that run.

What makes the P-51 Mustang so special?
"It would do for 8 hours what a Spitfire would do for 45 minutes."

Nice display Axis, and well done Razor and Corey for helping out.
One of the nice things about 1/18 is their presence. You certainly wouldn't get the same type of display showing 1/48 models.
