:D I'm Happy :D

My hat is off to the sculptor as he has captured Tom Berenger's "Sgt. Bob Barnes" likeness very well.

Image

The William Defoe "Sgt. Elias Grodin" sculpt (if thats who is as it may also be Charlie Sheen "Pvt. Chris Taylor") is a little less obvious to pick but after I looked at the images for a second time around, the hair on the scult made me lean towrads Defoe.

Image

So I guess if the above is Dafoe then at least one of the next two figures should be Charlie Sheen "Pvt. Chris Taylor", but I really hope that they do a Francesco Quinn "Rhah" scuplt complete with barbed wire staff.

Image

Also those sitting posed legs will be great for inside a Huey.

- Actually, I'm wondering if that's the Johnny Depp character?

Congratulations 21st! These new figures are great! The Sculptors have done a fantastic job. I like the idea behind those static legs, but I'm glad that poseable legs will be included, too. Because one of the points I like the most about the XD figs is the articulation.
I'm not a fan of the Nam Era toys, but these new figures seem to be well done and I hope they will be very, very sucessfull. I hope the next WWII Era figs will have this high quality too, because I'm looking much more forward to them.
Four words: More german paratroopers please :D

Excellent figures, and I'm looking forward to them! My Huey needs some passengers, as does the rear deck of my M-48

The images shown are indeed Berenger and Dafoe. You have to know that Sheen is next. So who is the fourth?..........

Depp.

I'm looking forward to Private Lerner.

TKO, Roy mentioned that we will see 12 new figures this year. Will all of these 12 be platoon figures?

Some of the 12 will be Platoon but not all of them will be. Expect more of our ever loved WWII flavor in the mix as well!

Also Roy had asked that I post the following message just to clarify any questions in regards to the Platoon line, concerning what is included and when we can see more images.

“Each new Platoon figure will come with one complete set of pre-posed arms and legs as well as a complete set of posable arms and legs. Arms, legs, and heads are designed to be interchangeable without having to resort to hot water or heat guns. This allows swapping of pre-posed legs and arms (including swapping between Platoon figures) to give even more posing options. More info, and the remaining Platoon figures and weapons, will be up on the website in the next few days.”

With two sets of arms and legs, I wonder if the price will be affected? Also, I wonder if both Walmart and Toys R us will carry them, or just one or the other.

Looks like there will be a hand set with the pistol formed into it as well or is that just a really snug fit?

Does anyone have a ballpark price on what the new figs will be? And does anyone know if they'll be sold at TRU? Thanks!

Different strain of AVG fever...

Post by c44 » Mon Jul 02, 2007 7:16 pm

Re: ...and China should have no political qualms about making Communist Viet Cong and NVA soldiers...well, they didn't in the past...but since VN kicked China's ass in a few "border misunderstandings" of their own, they might wake up one morning suddenly feeling as squeamish about their neighbors in Nam as they do with Flying Tigers...I don't necessarily buy into this article, but it's at least worth checking out...
http://www.imdiversity.com/Villages/Asi ... a_0405.asp

PS If any one out there doesn't know China & VN were briefly at war in the late 70's, pay attention in class! (not all Commies are alike) :)
