I used
Testor's Model Master Acrylic Green Drab (#4727) straight out of the bottle. It's an almost perfect match and the difference looks fine with the weathered areas already on this particular Huey. I'm using the S1 Huey (Hog Head II). I still have a bit to do before it's finished...

Thanks Birddog
I went out to the local shop and unfortunately they did not have that particular Testor's paint.
So after some experimentation and for those who are interested I discovered that an equal mix of Tamiya Olive Drab "XF-62" and Gunze RLM 70 Black Green "H65" gave me an almost spot on match for the Air Cav version of the Huey that I have (yes Harley I've only had it a day and I'm modifying it).
Inspired as always by the work of others on this board (I will be showing some pictures of my recoilless M274 soon, now that I picked up some more paint to finish the job), I hope to post some pictures of my Huey and my take on the gunship soon also

Thank you for the support VMF115 and MiG29K. I'm gald to hear that ya'll like it. Especially after the professional work I've seen you do on your projects MiG29K.
Spudkopf, sorry you couldn't find the Testor paint but I'm glad you found paint that works. I'm glad to hear my work has inspired you to customize your Huey..

Your recoiless is some awesome work and I can't wait to see the work you do on your gunship. Good luck with it and if you have any questions about what I did, just let me know....

As a model railroader of many years, I've seen some fine stuff in scales from 1/4" to 1:160. Your work ranks right up there Bird Dog.
I'm into covert operations (Nam SOG, Central American bush wars) so I dig the Huey.
Does anyone do a Blackhawk in any configuration?

bbi does a relatively accurate Blackhawk / Pavehawk, although it is relatively hard to find except through on-line retailers. Rumor has it that it is about to make an appearance at Target soon, though.

Thank you for the kind words Spook. I'm glad you like what I've done with this Huey. It's been a fun project to work on.
I do recall one board member did customize their bbi Blackhawk with a refueling probe but I can't remember if they added armament to it. I think that someone did add armament to one of the PTE Blackhawks though.
After doing this conversion, I've seriously been looking at my Blackhawk with tools in hand like a starving man holding a fork and knife looking at a juicy piece of prime rib. Hopefully if bbi makes its appearance at Target like FieroDude stated above, I'm going to pick up another Blackhawk for customizing.

Talented modeling is talented modeling regardless of scale.
Does anyone make 1:18 scale SOG figures in Tiger Stripes?

I have to take back what I said earlier about the armament on the bbi Blackhawk. Here's a link to wolf8564's bbi Blackhawk he customized.

Found the Blackhawk, the SEAL, some modern SpecOps (obviously CIA-SAD), haven't seen much of the Air America Huey though. Are they out of production?

Yep. They're out of production. Every once and a while you'll see one around on E-Bay.
Here's a link to an online retailer that still has them for sale:

Double thank you Spudkopf...

I appreciate your comments and the link. That's a good price on the AA Huey if you compare it to the others you find hanging around. I might just have to pick one up for another custom I have in mind...
Can't wait to see your custom Huey. After seeing your work on the Mule with Recoiless (which you've inspired me to attempt, picked up my mule kit the other day) I know it will be nothing short of amazing...
