21C Figure Hands

Post by Morian Miner » Thu Jun 14, 2007 7:57 am

I finally found the 88 spotter today at Walmart, along with some more DAK figures. With as many extra accesories they now give the figures, why does 21C continue to give the figures those crummy hands that can't hold weapons? I didn't buy the closed coat German because he couldn't even hold a Luger. I bought the spotter, but he's got the same funky hands. And the DAK figures, with the three sets of arms, only one can hold the gun they come with. Pretty much the other two arm sets are useless for using to make additional DAK soldiers. I don't see why even if they don't pack in an additional hand like the closed coat gunner, why don't they make the standard hands they put on figures able to hold a weapon.

I'm just curious, am I the only one this bothers?

no the hands bother me too - but I figure everything is working progress - the figures are much better than the first series back in the olden days. Besides they don't hold the weapons well either.

I hate the hands too man. Like Stuka says, the figures themselves have come a long way since the first series so let's hope they can eventually come up with a good system, hopefully before the next series comes out. Until then just keep cursing a lot when the rifle you finally got perfectly positioned falls off by itself hours later.

I will give 21C credit in one regard. On the BOB figures, the overcoat hand pegs were different sizes that the posed arms. You usually could not swap the two. At least on the DAK figures, all the pegs are close enough on the three arm sets that you can switch them around.

I just mix and match hands from the other figures in the D-Day series that had the hand shaped to hold the rifle. Problem solved

Good solution, if you decide to have figures not hold weapons. But, with the DAK figures, especially PVT Dieffenbach, I plan on using the extra head and trenchcoat/arms to make another fig using a PTE body. So, hands have to come from somewhere else, and you end up with a pile of worthless hands.
