Does eBay have something against Vietnam?

Post by Morian Miner » Fri Jun 08, 2007 8:25 am

I'm wondering if eBay has issues with something about the XD NVA line. I've been watching for NVA regulars, and will get the notification from Ebay about the listing. By the time I check it out, I get the "This listing has been removed" screen. Does anybody have an idea about this?

I've never seen that happen - Ebay is how I got some NVA a few months back - maybe ebay thinks they are German figures with offending symbols?

I've sold 50+ 'Nam carded figures over the past couple years on ebay with no problem at all. I have however seen ebay take a tough stance on WW2 German items as of late, as was briefly touched on by another thread here where a member who also runs an online business had his account cancelled because he displayed/pictured WW2 1:18 if memory serves me correct?

Baronvlad and dragonxchange both had their accounts temporarily suspended because of Nazi-related figures that they were selling - specifically, I think it was because of those 1:6 DID figures of Hitler, the Hitler Youth kid, etc. I have no way of knowing whether or not that means they can't post WW2 German armour or planes for sale...

eBay has now officially told anyone who asks that ALL German related items having anything to do with WW2 is banned.

There are plenty of WW2 German items (figures, tanks, trucks...anything) in any class listed on eBay now but it only takes ONE PC nutjob type person to complain about the item for it to be puled and the seller to be banned.

It is unbelievable to me that eBay would take such a position. I can understand figures of Hitler, Himler etc, and I can even understand sweatstickers, but this rule covers any figure, any tank, plane..ANYTHING German and WW2. This is official as of the last two days.

BTW, baronvlad is back in business with his own site after eBay banned him. He has great products at not outrageous prices. I speak as a repeat customer, not a friend or relative.

2nBTW: As a big fan of 1/6 DID figures, I don't believe DID has made the Nazi leader figures, I thought those figures were made by individual small customizers. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

eBay has no problem with Russian, Chinese, VN figures or even Atilla the Hun, just Nazi PCness.

DiD made Adolf this past year but under the company name 3R. This figure retails from $70.00- $80.00.
It is of DiD quality and a well made set.
