1/32nd Scale 21st P-51D

Post by MightyMustang » Mon Feb 14, 2005 3:28 pm

Just saw these at my local Wallymart and believe it or not if they are still around this weekend I'll have to pick one up. As for their Mustangs I'm not happy with 21st Century because they lack the accuracy and detail that BBI has spoiled me with but I'll have to buy one of these. The Mustangs come with the "Big Beautiful Doll" Markings and that is the MAIN reason for me purchasing one. Would I buy their 1/18th scale version? Simply put: NO. Why? Because I'm waiting for another Mustang release from BBI or I want to see the so called re-tooled 21st Mustang. Like I said I'm not happy with 21st's rendition of the immortal Mustang but at the Wallymart price and the scale I wont complain.

Glad you like it! I have the origional 32x Mustang, patterned after the 1:18 "Blue Nose" version. The paintjobs on all three are great, but I don't like the fact that they copied the flawed 1:18 version to a tee (even forgetting the framing on the windshield on the blue nose variant.) Would have been cool to have a "retooled" version!

I saw the 1:32 scale P-51 at Wal-Mart tonight. Along with the Me-262 and Bf-109 in desert camo.

Hey tmanthegreat I agree with you about copying the 1/18th versions to the tee. I noticed on the 1/32nd versions 21st didnt change a thing, they didnt even put a chin scoop below the prop. Why? Why wouldnt they bother to correct em? Oh well like I said no big deal I can live with it I guess. It just saves me money from buying 21st's big inaccurate 1/18th version of the legendary Stallion known as the P-51.
