Admiral F-4?

Post by JoeS » Wed May 16, 2007 7:46 am

Hi

Just noticed that Bad Cat are no longer displaying the upcoming AT F-4 in the pre-orders section. Doesn't sound too healthy.

I echo your sentiments VMF, as to the desire of owning the F-4, however I have that sinking feeling that this one is pulled. I remember Jason saying that they'd produce a more refined and feature packed F-4, but I'm not so sure given the the offering from 21st. But hey it's all cloak and dagger from now on and I think intel will be a little thin on the ground from now on just to maintain the competitive edge. Fingers crossed AT will release this beautiful bird.

I am not counting on AT makeing the F-4 maybe they will make some thing else like an F-14 or an A-6 to go along with the 21st Nam theme.

On the TV Show "Wheel of Fortune" contestants guess the names of places or phrases based on incomplete words. They get a few letters here and there then use this information to make an educated guess to solve the puzzle. Sometimes they're right, sometimes not.

We do the same thing with predicting new product arrivals--as do the members this board. Unless we have a contract in hand (and even then its no guarantee), we have to make educated guesses based on limited/incomplete info. And the game's getting tougher as the information sources are not as forthcoming as in the past.

If you don't see a particular 1:18 Preorder item on our site then you can assume we either don't know about it or we don't think it will be released this year. This industry is dynamic. It is full of feints, misdirections, and changes of plans. Through it all we try to provide the most accurate, up-to-date, information possible. Sometimes we're right, sometimes not.

I think it will still come out. Jason and co worked a long time on it, and a good number of you were still rooting for them despite 21st showing theirs later in the day.

I expect that and the skyraider to come out along with a shocking aircraft to come right afterwards out of nowhere, and I think all will
be happy.
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

I wouldn't dismiss the Admrial Toys F-4 being produced.

The second Me-262 paint scheme, "White 7", and the Hartmann paint scheme for the F-86 were both due in May and now they are saying Summer 2007. This change probably means that there has been some sort of set back in production or shipping and maybe that means AT's F-4 won't be out until next year. Matt just indicated that one reason that an item may not appear on the Pre-Order list is that they believe it won't be out until next year. AT's F-4 was first announced to arrive around Christmas time this year anyhow. A small change in the production of one aircraft may have a ripple effect on the others. We all know how the time frames can change and Jason has eluded that to us many times before.

Isn't the A-1 supposed to come out this year? I haven't seen a pre-order up on Bad Cat's website for it since the day it was revealed.
Go Ugly Early in 1/18!!

Still waiting and wishing for a 1/18 A-10 Warthog.

I don't know whats going on with AT at this point, and since Jason is not talking we will not know whats going on untill something shows up. So I bet AT will be like BBI from now on. like or not thats is how they will be from now on, unless Jason can remove this thought from my mind, that is how I will view it.

you guys are silly.

Pre-order generally is meant for products that are done with production and are awaiting frieght or arrival to the warehouses, that then ship to the companies, unless they are drop shipments.

Seriously...let's not try to decide what is coming out by what Bad Cat has up for pre-order...please.

Some reputable small retailers don't do pre-orders and still manage to offer great prices.

I bet the A-1 and F-4 are torpedoed and I hope you are working on an A-10 and F-14.
