RC Tanks, General Help

Post by Jesse James » Tue Apr 17, 2007 2:37 am

I don't build/collect RC tanks, however I'm in need of RC Tank parts... lots of different scales (anything from 1:6 to smaller than 1:18)... In particular I need wheels/drive wheels and tank track kits and things.

Not looking to build my own RC tanks, but am looking for parts to build tanks... Finding good sources for parts though seems frustrating to me, at least in the searches I've been trying, so I thought I'd ask for some help from the folks here since I'm sure some of you are into RC tanks.

Any help appreciated guys, thanks.

Your best bet is e-bay. Every week or so there are a couple of sellers that sell parts for the Stuart tank. Tracks drive motors and the like. Type in 1/6 tank or ultimate soldier when you do your search. 21st also sells parts for the Stuart. Tracks and track repair links. I think they also sell the running gear as well.

Thanks guys... I appreciate the tips. I'd like just sets of tracks, be they rubber, metal, whatever... I don't really need RC parts, just tracks for models and it's frustrating since track sets alone seem to cost like $50 the few places I've seen.

It's like you're further ahead buying RC tanks that are available for $60 or so, gutting them, and using them completely for your parts... I mean, why buy a kit of tracks for $50 when you can have a whole 1:16 tank for the same price, plus all the wheels, RC gear, etc.? Weird.
