Post by ostketten » Sun Apr 01, 2007 4:56 pm

Anybody ever seen one of these..?? Picked it up today at a local Wally for $3.88, it looks 1/72nd-ish but there is nothing at all on the box that I can see telling what the scale is..

I have one of those, it is 1/72 or very close. They also make 1 or 2 more with different paint schemes.

Thanks for the reply, the M8 is not a vehicle that is widely produced in any scale, except in kits maybe, so I'm kinda glad I got this, especially since I'm getting in to collecting 1/72 more lately. I wonder if the wheels roll...?? The turret appears to rotate and the gun does indeed elevate/depress, all things considered not too bad for 4 bucks.

King & country make a M8 in 1/35 scale
It's very nice too, but pricey, if I am not mistaken they retail for well over $100  too rich for me :(

I have seen these, but there isn't any definite scale.. I believe most are going to be 1/68 or 1/76 scale with the bigger planes/armor even smaller.. I guess the only real way to tell would be get out the micrometers and see what it measures up to be..

Both the M8 and the US Halftracks are almost exactly 1/72.

Sadly the rest of the range is fairly far out of scale with the stuart being the next nearest to 1/72.

Corgi also makes a M-3 Stuart in the same collection which is more or less 1/72nd. Also found at WM from time to time. I have a few of those. Also, the m-8 comes in just weathered green for non winter. I have both versions. They fit in well with my other 1/72nd stuff.
