Just to answer some concerns and questions...

1. Bush Avenger- production paint sample was shown at NY Toy Fair. (not a paint master but a pre-production paint sample)
We will see this one this year and most likely sooner than any of the following!

2. Me-262's you have seen em in plastic thus they are coming this year and likely soon!

3. Pak-40 Hanomag- also coming this year. We should see this one next from the 1:18 armor department.

4. Pappy Legends Corsair- You have seen the picture of the plane and now the finished Ground Crew. Buyers are now ready to intorduce this new item / set into the master list of items. Thus the trail is now blazed and this will come soon as well.

5. Phantom II is ETA for a late 2007 release.

6. MiG-21 - hard to tell for sure but the fact that it is paired with the phantom II it has to be kinda close to that plane as well but I think I could see that one as an early 2008 plane.

7. B-25 - This is a fun one! Not positive on the ETA. 21C is keeping this one very close to the vest. But I think we could see this anywhere from late 07 to mid 08.

8. Armor guys- Yep 21st is doing more of that stuff too. Look at the King Tiger and the 88. Both are coming in 2007 too!

So why is 21C announcing some of this stuff early.... BECAUSE YOU GUYS WANTED IT THAT WAY!!!!! Yep- 21st does listen to the fans! Thats also why there is an F-4 being built by 2 places. Also I could make a VERY strong argument that by early announcements fans are less likely to have duplication in the industry! I think this was the exact reason why the request came for advance announcements.

It's the old "Can't have it both ways" game.

Good news is though! 21st is making some very cool stuff! And our collections are looking good all around.

So it sounds like the phantom and the me-262 and the night fighter version are the only new aircraft that will definitely be out this year, while the Mig 21, the b-25 are a maybe depending if there are not any set backs in production. oh and a few repaints here and there.

So is there going to be a looooonnnnngggggggggge dry spell between new releases?

I do like what is comeing out but hate to wait for them....

everybody hates waiting for new items.

I bet if we were wearing body monitoring equipment and went into a WM not expecting anything and saw a mig 21 or KT the box would be going crazy :D

Can you believe a third of the year is gone?

No disrespect meant, but I'd appreciate 21st even more if they could actually get their current products on WM shelves. When you still haven't seen stuff that was released last summer/fall you tend to get a bit skeptical when looking at all the wonderous "future releases"

I know WM is a big part of the problem but it would seem 21st isn't producing enough toys to meet the demands. Maybe I'm wrong, but something is bad wrong somewhere.

It would be so great if you could go to the store and pick up what you wanted and know that even if it was out of stock that more would be coming. Now it's more a roll of the dice and fruitless searches of multiple stores. And once that item is gone, it's gone for good.

Yup I've never seen a huge amount of 21st's products here.

Here's a question that expands on my my last post. It is for TKO or whoever is in the know. With all of 21st's growth in toy lines and number of models, is the companies manufacturing cabability in China or wherever growing as well? Are they buying/renting more factory space? Hiring more people? Because right now it doesn't seem like they are able to pump out the numbers needed for nationwide distribution.

21C makes the products and fills the orders that WM writes purchase orders for. So any shortage of product in WM is a WM issue that becomes a Fan issue and that becomes a 21C issue.

You guys don't REALLY think 21C is sitting around a conference table saying... WM is getting cutt off! No more toys for them. We have all the money we need, we don't need any more of that yucky cash!?

It seems to me that WM has not estimated the demand from the customers. I know that a few itmes will hang around from time to time but lately it seems like stuff is getting harder to find. So I do have to agree with you guys that WM shelves are a little thinner than usual.

I wish there was another option...

ALL of 21C is in full swing! Everyone over there (and in China) is working hard. As a matter of fact they have added many new people over there in the last year! Things really are very very good.

The announcement of the B-25 should be an indication of that fact.

Based on my conversations with 21C I am confident that everyting that can be done is being done and the rest is just the time that it takes to build a new product. :D

I for one appreciate all the new items 21c is bringing out and whether they sell em at WM, online or whatever, as long as I'm able to get them in my collection that's good enough for me.

As always, thanks for the quick and honest reply TKO! 8)

I don't really blame 21st, I know they want to sell their products. I figured maybe the Chinese factories were to blame and that they weren't able to meet demand. I really do think that certain WM stores are cutting XD, at least for now, maybe because at these certain stores it isn't pulling in as much as they would like so they put what they perceive as moneymakers in it's spot.

As for other stores, such as one near me, they sell out of a popular item (D-day figs) and then never replace them. Their crummy distribution is a known fact and all these reasons add up to P-O'd XD fans who are mad because new products are on their way while they never even saw any of the last wave of products.

I hope I don't seem like I'm not onboard the 21st fan club because I am, I love their products as everyone else here obviously does and it seems the 21st team are very passionate about their work. But with the drought in full swing I think we all just need to shake our fists at someone every once in awhile.

Have to say that other than the lack of XD ground vehicles and armor, 21st has been rocking it out. :)

No disrespect intended TKO but that's all we've heard about the WM deal
I as all the other guys wish it was different. There is not one current 21C item on any of the 9 WM stores in my area, old or broken yes. Been that way since Xmas. That's not the way to keep your fan base happy. It's like 21C dropped off the map in this area. They will tell you when the old stock is gone they'll be getting in new. That's not doing 21C any good. Makes it look like 21C is over extended and can't keep up with the demand. What's the matter with the other retailers like Target,Kmart TRUS ect? They used to be in there why now just WM?

You know, after watching the classic movie Animal House for the 500th time the other day I'm starting to picture WM as those psycho frat guys. Forcing pledges to scream "Thank you sir may I have another!!" after they whack em on the behind with the paddle.

The 21C 1/32nd kits....

Post by nfafan » Tue Mar 27, 2007 9:28 am

All I can say about these 1/32nd A/C kits is that they are getting a lot of great press on the scale modeling boards from folks who spend $50.00+ on A/C kits - great value for what you get.

Almost, but not quite yet, makes me want to build an airplane model.

Now if they make a 1/32nd JU88A4, or B25...

I still don't see how you guys are so tortured by WM...if there is something you want, go online and buy it. The MiGs on ebay are about $35 before S&H...really not that bad. Only the figures are impossible to find. If you refuse to shop online then that is your problem..you have to realize that online is a distribution outlet, whether you like it or not.

As for
"What's the matter with the other retailers like Target,Kmart TRUS ect? They used to be in there why now just WM?"
- you don't think 21C, AT or bbi would love to get picked up by another major retailer?? I think it is the stores calling the shots on that one...

digger, you see some times the online retailers are the last to get an item, where WM gets them first, if you waited till the e stores got them in you could be waiting months after they showed up in WM.
Also all the driving around, going to every WM in your AO and still finding nothing…. just look at how much gas one will use up. I bet the amount of gas you spend just for looking could be spent buying more XD.

So in hind-sight I think 21st should offer the fans of XD a discounted price or free and first shot at every new item (just one paint scheme). Now will that hurt WM and other online retailers I don’t think so. How may of use are here any ways.

Just an idea.

I agree, I mean there is no point crying in our beer about the lack of 21C products at WM right now. If WM won't step up to the plate, I will simply look elswhere, that's the American way, it's called competition. Don't get me wrong, I DO miss the cheap prices and good selection that WM stores around here USED to have, but I'm not losing any sleep over it either.

The problem with online retailers for the most part is that they mark up the price too high. You could get nearly twice as many figs to army build for example if we waited/hoped that they would be released to our local Wal-Marts. I know that I often check the 11 different Supercenters in my 35 mile area, and way too many times come home emptied handed and disapointed. I would not doubt that the online e-tailers even get the rare/popular items from the Wal-Mart shelves and resell them to make a small profit. (I know that they have to make a profit to make it worthwhile.)That could be why we never see the new stuff. It is easy to say that we should use the online shops, however, they do not have what we want for the most part. On a side note, I love BadCatToys because they get a lot of exclusives for one, and usually have the good stuff in stock. Same goes for militarytoyshop. Just give me the figs at a decent price and I will be only buying from the e-tailers.
