That's fantastic news! I love that 21st is now staking out their territory. Good call by some board members. Great to see the "Platoon" figures confirmed as well.
Here's hoping that an announcement on Russian & Brit XD figs won't be far behind.

they may be announcing releases well in advance as a result of all the ruckuss surrounding the timing of announcing their F-4 right after AT announced theirs. They don't want to be accused of 'copying' again.
I fully believe that 21c had every intention of announcing the F-4 at Toy Fair and it was pure coincidence that AT announced one too. The mere fact of the Mig 21 and Platoon figures launch this year demonstrates that they had a full Vietnam line up planned.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

I agree that 21C has had the Vietnam line planned as well. It really would be nice if the big three companies coordinated/communicated with one another so that they do not step on each others toes. Besides, the profits would be greater fro each company if they did not release the same piece at the same time. I could see another company reintroducing a piece two or more years later and the profits would be just as large. Everyone woul win. Besides, we as the collectors/consumers would have a different piece to choose from each company through and through.

This is the best news yet for me at least regarding 1/18 scale aircraft. After the Mig-15(which I love) release, we just had to have a Mig-21.
I was really hoping for this, and now my prayers have been asswered.
Now a mig-17 and maybe even a Mig-19 would be nice also, but Im not complaining by no means. the 21 was a must!!!!
If they are starting this Vietnam kick---then we need a 17 and 19.
Does anyone know what variant the F-4 is going to be? I hope its one I can make into an Israeli version.

I'm just stoked about the Mig-21. Not one I thought we'd see at all.

I would hope to see the Mig-19 made I think that the Mig-19 looks a lot cooler then the Mig-17…LOL No I hope to see the Mig-17 made along with the Su A/C.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Mig 19 would be nice as it would show the transition between the Mig 15 to the Mig 21, I don't think there would be to much retooling involved from the 15 to the 19. I might be wrong though. In any case I'll settle for the 21.

There would not be a lot of retooling to go from 15 to 17, but the 19 is a completly different plane, it had 2 turbines.
Unfortunatly, as much as I would love one, I dont think there will be a Mig-17. The Mig-15 would have a split in the tail (like the BF-109) so the thing could be lengthend to the Mig-17 body.

I figured this plane would be made at some point due to size and importance in history. Looking forward to it.
