Is it true that each 1:72 piece (both tanks & airplanes) that Cyber Hobby offers is a 999 limited edition?
The number on all the collector cards are 3 digits, and the very first "limited" edition tank was the 2004 WOH King Tiger, which was 999 pieces.
Finally, did the DRR60001 "Wittman" Tiger be produced in more than 999 items? It seems so, but the price on these is VERY high, right?

I think its safe to say that these models enjoy worldwide popularity among Military Miniature enthusiasts (especially US, UK, Germany, Canada, Japan and Australia).
The 500 Piece Limited Editions:
Michael Wittmann 007
Otto Carius
The 999 Piece Limited Edition:
WOH King Tiger
I'm not sure about the rest.
I believe they usually run somewhere between 4000 and 6000 pieces for their standard models and up to 2000 for some Cyber-Hobby releases.
The 60001 Wittmann Tiger reportedly less than 2000 made.
Feel free to correct these figures if anyone has harder info.

Mr. Football,
Did Cyber-Hobby advertise the "500 piece special edition" for the Wittman aand Carius Tigers on their web site, or is the production run number listed on the item package or collector's card?
I think its very odd (perhaps unscrupulous) that Dragon has not explicitly stated the quantity of each limited edition model available for EVERY tank and airplane. At least Corgi does so.
I think at this point, if the Dragon collectors card lists a 3 digit number, you have to assume that the production run is 999. This is still a very low number, BTW (p.s. check out the production runs for Corgi's 1:72 P-51D Mustang).

I'm 100% sure they advertised 500 for the Wittmann "007", and I'm fairly positive they did the same for the Otto Carius Tiger. (both of mine are in the 100's range).
Somehow on the Michael Wittmann "Dual Tigers", I came away with #1 out of ????
Go figure.

Don't mean to knock down the Cyber-Hobby 1:72 "Limited Edition" models. I think that they are all high quality pieces that have tremendous investment potential.
I just wish Dragon would officially post ALL of the final production runs for these "premium price" renditions.
Can any dealers out there help?

Hi,
I seriously doubt whether anyone outside of Dragon can fix an exact number to their production run (particularly for their rapidly appreciating limited edition series) unless Dragon does an about face and releases this info to the public. Most manufacturers tend to play this aspect of the business 'close to the vest', so-to-speak, for fear of divulging sensitive information to their competitors. And, since there isn't any governing body adjudicating these figures, I see no reason why they would want to release this information unless they feel it produces a value-added appeal to their products.
On the other hand, companies such as Minichamps stencil the production run to the display base of their vehicles, to indicate how many prices were produced. Unfortunately, this doesnt apply to their highly popular military series.
