Future Repaints

Post by Killerf6 » Wed Mar 07, 2007 10:34 pm

I've been thinking here lately about the repaints I would like to see..(not that all the new aircraft coming out isn't enough). There are certain 1:18th scale aircraft already in production that I would buy in a second if they were available.

Dick Bong's P38, Marge, would make a good wingman for Thomas McGuire's Pudgy V

Tom Blackburns' F4U-1A, Big Hog, wingman for Ira Kepfords corsair.

Chuck Yeagers' P-51D Glamorous Glen III, wingman for both Bud Peterson's HHH, and Bud Anderson's Old Crow.

What would you like to see?

I don't want to see anymore repaints of existing planes - only repaints of new planes

Nevertheless, I like the repaint options you have listed in the above message 8)

I don't really want to see another plane out of that squadron for a long time. There are too many other squadrons and schemes that are deserving their chance. From what I understand, we will never see a plane with Glamorous Glen on it until the General is dead and his kids stop being greedy...never. But a good one to go with Old Crow would be Gentleman Jim.

I personally would like to see more Tuskogee schemes and something from the Gunfighter/Miss Marilyn group.

Nice selection. The only repaint in the Mustang series I would like to see is "Dallas Doll" with the black and yellow checker board nose and was coded I believe SX B. I cant remember what squadron it was from though. The Blackburn Big Hog Corsair would be really cool. But I also agree with others that we need to see new planes made now and not constant repaints.

I would like to see 21st Century and BBI do their P-51s in Korean war markings as an F-51. That would be cool. :D

As for 1:18 repaints on existing planes my choices:

1. Korean war Corsair correctly equipped with FOUR blade prop. That can't be that hard to make a mold for...same goes for the chin/cheek scoops on the -4 and -5 models.
2. Frenc Corsair -7 model. It just looks cool
3. P-51 Miss Marilyn. Those two tone green, silver, gold combos are awesome
4. A P-40 in a B model with the proper tiger mouth and faces one the front.

Let's go with a theme here... Gabreski's F-86!! Now that's a historical aircraft, though I'm not sure if it was an E model or not.

What about all the repaints from the unreleased A/C?
I can see dozens of repaints for years to come.
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!
