New 1:18 armor?

Post by grunt1 » Tue Mar 06, 2007 7:05 pm

Saw these:

First one looks like a slightly modified re-paint of the "Classic Armor" remote control Panzer IV from 21st Century.

Second one looks like they used the Panzer IV chassis and running gear with an M1 upper deck and turret...?

the bottom one looks to be the same one you can buy at TRU in the cheapo military isle. minus the new paint and RC, becuase the same things that move on that, are the same on this, and the wheels are exact.

Knock-offs. And very, very cheaply made ones by the looks of it. Love the Frankenstein M1/Panzer tho!

Depending on price they would make good fodder or at least the Panzer would. If you need the track sections then the hybrid, but only if they are cheat would I buy one.

Thanks for the avatar Spudkopf. Now if you could teach how to put it on I would use it. I was originaly a pickelhaube collector but have changed direction and have moved to XD. E-bay has ruined the spike helmet hobby. 15 years ago when I started. You could get junk helmets for about $100 to $175 depending on the German state. Now those pieces of junk go for about $350 to $450 ! If I were to start collecting them now there would be no way that I could afford what I have now.
The XD are a lot more available and cheaper as well.
What I would love to do is get a photo of my collection ( of spikes) and use that as a avatar. But I need someone to hold my hand.

That is wierd. That Panzer IV looks identical to the 21c/NMT version. Notice that despite its paintscheme, its way too accurate to have come from somewhere else. I wonder if 21c has outsourced their moulds - or if someone got ahold of one and copied it. There have been enough of the RC panzers to make them not that hard to find.

The sand shields on the mkIV look like they should be from a Chaffee.

They are errm Interesting to say the least.

Though for those wanting to make Pz MkIV hull customs (Stugs, etc) these probably will be better to cut up than actual 21st Pz MkIVs??

I'd buy the top one, however, the bottom I would never even touch. It is such an eyesore.
