B-25 release will pave the way for the F-14 or F-15
Seems A-list airplanes are getting most of the attention in 2007. First the F-4 from AT & 21, then pictures of Toy Fair 2007 revealing 1/32 scale of F-4, F-14, F-15, and an SU 27? 29? (can't tell the difference) from Merit, then the B-25 is released? [and we're only through February!!]
Before 2007 is over someone will release either a 1/18 Tomcat or Eagle. It's gonna happen. OH BOY!!

I was just thinking the same thing but I think it will be next year before we see the F-14 or the F-15. Maybe and thats a guessBlack Lion VF-213 wrote:Seems A-list airplanes are getting most of the attention in 2007. As much as I want my beloved F-14 made, I feel the F-15 will be produced first. It would be sort of a test run before the F-14. My reasoning: though both birds are large, the F-14 has more movable flight control surfaces and is more complicated of an aircraft vs. the F-15. Think of the stabilitators, rudders, the flaps & slats, speed brakes, engine access hatches, arrestor hook, landing gear doors (three alone for the main gears, and two for the front!!) and of course the wing sweep mechanisms!! Oh my!! That just screams $190+ price tag!!
As far as I can tell, the Eagle only has flaps, ailerons, elevators, and rudders. I'm not sure if it has speed brakes. It certainly has less complicated gear doors. $150+ price tag???
Whoever makes it will want to be darn certain they get the lesser complicated flagship done right before tackling the most complicated of them all.

I must say, the Tomcat is #1 on my list of modern A/C, followed by the F-15 and of course the A-10. If someone would market a F-14, I would think I had died and gone to heaven. Yeah, It could be wishful thinking, but with the release if increasingly larger A/C, I believe it is within the realm of possibility.
BTW, where did you guys see the 1/32 scale F-14? Are there pics? How did I miss that?????

The airbrake is a huge great flat "plate" on the spine behind the cockpit, single hydraulic(?) jack actuator. Strictly speaking it doesn't have ailerons since the whole "horizontal stabilator" (McDD-Speak for "tailplane"Black Lion VF-213 wrote: As far as I can tell, the Eagle only has flaps, ailerons, elevators, and rudders. Speaking for myself, I'd prefer the Eagle over the Tomcat any day - the 'cat is a nice enough bird but I just prefer the look of the Eagle - and it is easy(ish!) to convert an 'ordinary' 2-seat Eagle into the Strike Eagle, which is what I really want!
On the griping appendage though, isn't the Harrier more likely than either the Tomcat or Eagle? They're smaller and (although I hate to say it) a lot more recognizable than most other aircraft (be honest, even the Warthog isn't as ugly!) and a guaranteed show-stopper too (when was the last time you saw any other display bird - other than a helicopter, stop at the display line and bow to the crowds??

Just my 0.02Cr...
Jeff.

i can't choose ! between 14 & 15 !
for me i can't choose between an F 14 & F 15 ( in fact i wil buy both !) (i've got all the jets so far ... even 2 F 18 blue & gray so i am committed ...
)
I think the F 14 can be easy to build with independent wings :
build an F 14 fuselage and just "click" the wings on a pivot. This technique should be able to produce 2 set of wings :
- 1 pair moveable and flat
- 1 pair fix in extended position with flaps down "dirty"
This is the same solution as the new UNBELIVEABLE F14 from century wings .... in 1/72
see http://www.onmarkint.com/ or www.flyingmule.com and search century wings or F 14 you will see what i mean with the wings !
waht a a dream model !!!! (in 1/72 and 1/18 !)
But again the question with theses are the weapon (just like DRAGON 1/72 i wish to have some wepon packs to arm up my jets ... my F 16 feel naked since i removed evrything but the tanks )
concerning the F 15 definitevely an E strike eagle (see the book strike eagle from M. SMALLWOOD ... incredible stories from gulf war 91 !!!!)
in conclusion : bring in some more ... and the A10
(i know it will disturb some that on evry thread some pirates speak about the A10 but i may be one of them
) keep on the good work AT & 21st we will support you !- Philippe

Even though this was my fave plane back in school, ironically it was not on my priority list for 1:18... but that has now changed due to some Anti-Tomcat sentiment (No names necessary) I got all of your backs on this one. You want some of this? YAAYUHH! Fo Sho.

I doubt that, I wish it was true but I dont think it will happen. If you have proof please share with us.WGP Klaus wrote:an F14 might even beat the Phantom to the shelves?vmf214 wrote:In my opinion BBi would be the one to release the Tomcat or the Eagle.
