21c and 1/48 Armor
Are we being double crossed by 21C??
Bad Cat says this AM that they will have the new 21C 1/48 scale armor. The first two look good but why 1/48?
We want new armor in 1/18, not 1/48.
I thought 21C was going to use 1/48 for the larger multi engine planes. That sounded good, so what's going on?

1/48th scale
I'm not into this scale but I have been seeing 1/48th armor and aircraft at my local walmarts here on the Island.

I found some 1:48 Panzer IVHs at a local Wal Mart - the first I've seen, though they have been out a while in other states. My stores are full of the older 1:48 Kubels, Jeeps, and other vehicles which never seem to sell. The 1:48 aircraft went quickly as have the new Panzer IVDs and Wirblewinds, for the most part.

I have gotten a number of the 1/32 scale stuff planes and tanks. But the 1/48 does not interest me. I do like the paint on them but they are too small. This scale will bring big money on e-bay. Some of the better modelers sell ther stuff and it goes for big money. I have seen some 109's and 190's go for well over $300 in 1/48 scale

Frankly, I don't see that 21st producing alternate scales will adversely affect 1/18. I admit it can be frustrating to continue to find stuff you are not looking for while unable to find that which you are seeking.
But I think that they are well aware of the market for 1/18, and are simply trying to "grow" their overall market by producing product which may appeal to consumers who are not interested in 1/18. The more these things sell, the larger 21st C will become, and the more product they will be able to bring to market in all scales.
Personally, being somewhat crazy anyway, I buy stuff in all the scales. I have 1/18, 1/32, 1/48 as well as 1/72 and 1/144. Bring it on! It's all good!
