bbi Availability?

Post by flayrah » Sun Oct 17, 2004 9:27 pm

so, where should we be looking for the new WWII bbi products? TrU? On-line retailers? Hobby stores? Seeing these announcements is great, but I wish bbi had included some information on who will be selling the vehicles.

BBi Avaliability

Post by tmanthegreat » Sun Oct 17, 2004 10:17 pm

Thus far, its only the small retailer BigBoysWarToys that is showing anything about carrying the new WWII BBI stuff (the Sherman is on preorder for November).

I would guess it would be a given that these products will show up at the small retailers. TRU may be more questionable, but as long as there are just Allied vehicles TRU may carry them. I guess...

New BBI

I'd be surprised to see the Mustang at TRU. They're still trying to get p-38s off the shelf. No F-18 ever hit tru (did it?) and I doubt the Mustang will either. That's Ok. I rather good stuff at higher prices with smaller distribution than lousy stuff all over tru (see M1).
55 isn't cheap so I'd expect the plane to be pretty interactive, so to speak. Now the figures....

yea i have had a problem with bbi distribution, i like their products and would like to buy more, but i am having trouble finding it, i have seen pictures of their spec forces figs w/berets, but i cant find them anywhere, bbi is a great company with lots of good products, they just need to work on distribution, but then again i guess all the companies do, from 21st to PTE.

The F-18 is supposed to be in TRU for Christmas. Perhaps the P-51 wil be too. I imagine over time BBI distribution will only improve, especially if demand for their products increases via customber requests.

Interesting. I'd like to see both versions, and maybe even the Blue Angel, in TRU... but I won't hold my breath :-P

F18 at TRU? Is this rumor or do we have some truth to it? I know part is TRU's new mantra is more exclusives, so I'm wondering if they will start taking more advantage of BBi in that way.

New BBI Planes at TRU

Post by tmanthegreat » Tue Oct 19, 2004 11:28 am

I'll believe it when I see it. If the F-18 does show up at TRU, I wonder if there will be a price reduction? Now the question as to whether or not I should wait for the P-51 to show up at TRU and risk not obtaining it...

FIrst off the info about the F-18 was posted by a board member many weeks ago and was said to have come from management at TRU. It would not surprise me if it is true as i don't think BBI would have produced it without a major retailer commiting to taking a bunch.

Second, i fully expect the price at TRU to be about $80...not much less than the online retailers in otherwords. To that end i would grab the P-51 online as we don't know for sure if it will show at TRU or any other major retailer and if it does the price difference probably will be small anyway.

If we start to see these showing up at TRU then you can wait for future releases to show there rather than buy them online but if you really want a BBI Mustang i think it's wiser to grab it when you can. Everything about this hobby and this scale is still pretty shakey.

New bbi

Post by digger » Tue Oct 19, 2004 6:40 pm

I'll believe F-18s at tru when I see them too....has anyone even seen the new BH at tru? I have not.
As for getting bbi while you can, I think that is perhaps the wrong attitude and is what creates a misguided frenzy. Think about it, there is no bbi aircraft that you can't get if you want. Yes, people had to wait for the 2d shipment of F-18s, but now they're everywhere. It is not like 21C where if you didn't get a Putt-Putt you never would (until the re-release).
There is no such thing, nor has there ever been, as an unavailable bbi vehicle or aircraft. In that respect it is NOT like 21C. There are still 1st series humvees kicking around from 3 years ago....

We probably need to hit the on-line retailers in order to find this nicer stuff. I can't see TRU carrying some of the items, but who knows?
