Here's my list for '06 (at least what I can remember)
2 Corsairs $30
5 Mustangs $200
1 Me-262 $65
1 P-38 $70
1 Avenger $35
1 F-104 $40
1 Sabre $45
1 Stuka $40
2 Migs $70
1 M48 $40
Halftracks and Pak $88
Various figures $150

Grand Total $873

I'm sure there are probably a few things I am forgetting, so I wouldn't be surprised if that total was closer to the $1000 mark.

Great question!! The problem is that I don't think I can differentiate between 2006 and 2007. If I tried to list what I may have bought in 2006, it would probably have 90% of what I have bought this year on it!!

I was a little more subdued last year because of money and space concerns, and as a result have probably dropped as much this year as I did in 2005...and 2005 was infamous for having to buy two sets of Fw-190s!!!

I'm gonna say 500-1000 for 2006. (Probably close to 500 already this year with all the pre-orders included!!)

I know that I can add to my 2006 with ease to be well over the $1000 bench mark. What bothers me I like some other members have close to $500 already with stuff I have bought and what I have on pre-order. :? This year alone. For only 2 months into the year there is a long way to go. It is hard to pace yourself with all of the new stuff that is coming out. :? The wife is starting to put here foot down and is only allowing me to keep the planes in the house for one week only. My work shed is starting to look like a warehouse for toys. I go out there and look at all my stuff and it kind of depresses me. I am at the point were I need to stop. But that is about 2 years off. When it gets to the point that I can't close the doors that I guess will be the time. Unless I get a lot of tarps . HMMMMM
But the Tender T. is in the spare bedroom. :D That will NOT go out into the shed

Just some perspective..

(And these are just relative estimates)

If your hobby is abc then your annual spending might be xyz:

Reading
2-3 hard covers per month = $900/yr

Motorcycle
New one every three years = $3000/yr

PC Gaming
New rig every 18 months = $2000/yr
(Not including games!)

Console Gaming
Initial console + 1-2 games per month = $1500/yr

Hot Rods (or other auto projects)
$2000-$10,000+/yr

Woodworking
(varies based on whether there are trees in your yard)

Traditional modelling
$50-$100 per kit, plus paints, etc.. =$1500/yr

So point being this hobby is one of the less expensive ones, imho..

Unless of course you are double or triple dipping into several of these and/or other hobbies..

Not that I know anyone that would do that.. Image

I started adding it up, and realized I don't know what fell in late 2005 or very early 2007, but suffice it to say that if I didn't hit the $1000 mark, it was very close. Factor in 1/6 Star Wars figures/sets and Cy Girl/Cool Girl figures and outfits, and it's closer to $2000.
Damn.... So THAT's where the money for tbe V8 for the Fiero disappeared to...

It's pretty scary how many of us spent more than a grand on this stuff. Clearly I need some professional help. :D
I think those of us that spent over several hundred need it. :D

I'm quite surprised I thought that the numbers would average around 3 to 4 hundred dollars but its much higher then that. I wonder how many the average (non-collector) Walmart or Toys R Us shopper buys?
