WOW!
now 2 1/18 Phantoms in same week
why can't the toy people talk to each other.

instead of AT & 21st both doing F-4s why couldn't one have done a A-10 or F-15 instead.

its not a state secret, its a toy
this is "Stupid"
it's like Mustangs & Corsairs, enough is enough

Totally agreed. I don't want to come across as bashing 21c, but they have got to realize when they're beat and go a different route. I can't believe I'm saying this now, but an A-10 would be a far more logical choice! Afterall, they have the prototype and BBI, Hasbro, and other companies have had success selling A-10-like products...

What's next, a 21c Dauntless and A-1 Skyraider?

I do, however, like the idea of a 21c F-4 in 1:32 as they will do an excellent job

That is something that was passes over. I am all about the 32x F4 from 21st. It will look good up on the classroom ceiling.

I think Arab or Israeli schemes would fly like lead ballons. I think people like the idea of having adversaries--like a 109 and a Spitfire. But, for the average guy on the street, when the same plane is painted as both the good and bad guys it leaves a sour taste.

There is a possibility that someday we could see Israeli F-15s take on Saudi Arabian F-15s. I wonder how that would go? I have an idea...

MiG-21

Post by MiG29K » Wed Feb 14, 2007 2:45 pm

So far, we've seen the F-86 series and its counterpart, the MiG-15...

Given the upcoming release of the F-4, I will put down my stack of chips at Caesar's Palace that a MiG-21 is soon to follow. I think we all can already picture dogfights taking place on ceilings everywhere with F-4s, and MiG 21s hanging off them - As its been said, for every Thesis is an Anti-thesis. The Showtime 100 (Cunningham/Driscoll) vs. MiG -21 "boxing match" comes to mind.

Which company is gonna bust it out first?

More likely it will be a Mig-17 against them with Col. Toon (Conjectured, he may not even have existed) as its pilot. He was North Vietnams greatest ace of the war with 13 kills and the fight between that Mig and the Cunningham's Phantom is a fight taught in Fighter schools everywhere.

Wow, it looks like Admiral is going to be getting a big chunk of my cash with an SBD, Sandy, and an F-4 all coming out. Along with the F-6 from BBI, I'm totaly overwhelmed. Man did I pick a good time to get into this hobby. :D

This may have something to do with 21st being listed at 89.00 now this is going to the wire .

What is the $140 F4 from Admiral going to do or look like that's going to be different from the 21Cs F4 :?: There's really not to much surprising on this plane other than those big engines and the amount of ordanance it could carry. Maybe for $140 we'll get a talking pilot or a plane with jet engine sounds complete with afterburners. The size of the plane is almost the same as the Avenger so that don't count. Maybe a re-think on the price is in order. Right now I'm leaning towards 21C. Have a good one. Sarge

Level of detail would have a lot to do with the price of the model, and from what I have seen of other Admiral products the price differance might very well be worth it. Things like metal landing gear (a rumor I heard), moveable control surfaces, and interchangable ordanance, are all things that could increase the cost.

I plan on purchasing an Admiral F-4 (hopefully we will see on in Navy colors) and if the price is $140 so be it. I am going to support Admiral as much as I can because I think that they are geared more towards the collector. Their products are very well done, they have introduced several unique, and sought after aircraft, and from what I have heard on these boards their customer service is second to none.

What level of detail does this plane have? No slats, air brakes,or guns of any kind Moveable control surfaces are standard as well as sliding cockpit and poseable(?)pilot. The only things left to detail are the landing gear and ordinance. No big deal on these either, It would be nice to have
interchangeable ordinance but not $140 worth. How about a fully detailed, removable or accessable engine? That might lossen up my wallett.
They might have a second to none customer service as far as your concerned but I'm still waiting for (1) an answer to 2 emails sent to their CS dept regarding the screw covers for the 262 sent one and two weeks ago and (2) The screw covers themselves. seeing as they have begun distributing them back in Jan.
I don't care when I get them, just would like some feedback as to the status on them. Last I heard from Jason on them was a form letter the end of Jan that they had a big foul up on the order but that eventually I would get them along with everyone else.
Admiral is great in my book and they sell good looking planes But their in it for the buck also. As long as they don't become WM oriented we shouldn't have any problems. Have a good one. Sarge

well you got that big radar that could be presented, if I recall the engines came out from under, with hinged drop down panels, metal gear should have been standard from the first release. (or at least metal pivot shafts)

There are numurious avionics bays, have opening doors with detail. Were there retractable ladders for cockpit access?

The sheer size and new package will increase costs alone. As I was assigned to VMFA 122 over in japan in 86, I'll be partial to a marine scheme :D

I'm sure the Admiral Toys team has been super busy preparing for the Toy Fair during January and most of February. I'm positive you'll get a response from Admiral Toys soon along with your screw covers.

I think the choice is really pretty simple. If you don't want to pay $140 for a plane, then don't. Bitching about it isn't going to do anyone any good.

For 140 I expect a lot of cockpit detail and other detail that normally does not come on our 1:18 A/C, I don’t mind paying for that….but not to much say around 1500.
