XD, EF, and AT at wholesale clubs?

Post by Moth » Sun Feb 04, 2007 10:49 pm

I didnt post this in the DFTS forum, because it call for all the companys, didnt want to post the same thing in every company's thread.

Is there any chance that any of "the big 3" would sell planes in a wholesale club like Costco or Bj's?
Even at the $40 price tag, I think planes will sell pretty well, especially in holiday time.

I collect 1:18 scale cars, and them being at Bj's is a godsend! At $10 each, its a steal, and there is a huge selection.

Im just not sure that 21st Century Toys, BBI, or Admiral has the ability to produce such an amont of plane to satisfy the wholesale clubs.

What do you say TKO, Mike, and Jason?

I know that a 1:6 R/C M-5 Stuart tank was once sold at Sam's Club stores last year. It came with the tank and four 1:6 figures. Sam's Club, however, is affiliated with Wal Mart which also sold the R/C Stuarts, so that is why they were there.

I think selling 21st or other 1/18 scale products at Costco would be a great idea, but I too would doubt that enough production of the items that were to be sold could satisfy the retailer's bulk requests to carry the items.
