I saw this thread a while back and wanted to read it, but never had time. Anyway I found some time, because I have always wanted to build an 1/18 scale Bismarck and/or Tirpitz. One problem if I did the Bismarck, I would need her battle-group escort the Prinz Eugen at the very least. Would be nice to build one of the Destroyer escorts too. Plus I can't leave out the competition, like the Hood, Prince of Wales, King George V, Rodney, Dorsetshire, etc. Even if I only built the key British ships that would leave 5 to be built plus the 2 German ships. Can anyone say warehouse? Because that is what I would need to house a project like that in. The Tirpitz would be easier. Mostly in port and didn't see much action. Plus it had the cooler paint schemes IMO. That was the biggest project I thought of, but for starting I tried the Tantive IV (Rebel Blockade Runner) at around 25 feet long. One day I will finish it as I got a good part of it done before it had to be stored away. As for real life, I started a German U-boat at about 12 feet long. Only got as far as the scaling it out on my garage floor though. Once the T-34 is done and the weather starts warming back up I can start back on it. As for these project I always say you only live once.

Didn't the guy wo built the "Graf Spee" have a two man crew to cruise around? How can your wife object to a nice boat to cruise around?
OK, so the wifey will be inside, so what, at least she won't get wet.
Haveing just, a few minutes ago, seen the "Dogfights" episode on THC with the sinking of the Bismark, I'd lean toward the Bismark. Complete with the Brit Swordfish dropping torpedos. Come on guys, you can do it. Think big.

The two "customs" that I have successfully finished are two M274 Mules, using the Glencoe kit. I put a TOW launcher on one (21C, I think) and I put a BBI recoilless rifle on the other.
I've also done a custom M113 ACAV and a custom paint job on an LAV-25.
Planning to do a repaint on a M1 someday, so it will match my LAV.
I've got a near 1/18 Swift boat that I picked up on Ebay last year. Hopefully, I'll be able to work on it this year.
Thinking about doing some 1/72 scale modern submarines (Ohio Class SSBN/SSGN and a 688 class SSN).

I am hoping to do a large basse complex 7ft by 3.5ft and want to make it a desert scene but having trouble coming up with an idea of how to create a surface that looks like the desert floor.
I have started on a tent that i will be putting my bunkbeds into to give the troops a place to sleep
