The one in the pictures looks nice. I haven't picked up a 21st plane since the red nosed 109 but If there aren't any serious quality control issues with the paint on this one it will be one that I buy.

Looks like the old bird with new colors. Still, nice to have some nose art.

Like the nose art on that one. Would almost be a shame to see that at Walmart - hate to see the Walmart lackeys destroy the nice packaging.

Best paint since Hakeleka!

Will this one be at Walmart?

Did Walmart ever sell P-38's? :?

May just have to add another P-38 to the collection!

I never did purchase any of the P-38's, but this one looks like a candidate to consider adding to my small fleet of planes.

I don't think that WM will be getting this one. I might stand corrected but I don't think that the P-38 sku has even made it into WM?

As far as tooling goes the only thing that has changed is the delete of the rocket tubes on the sides. Pudgy was the first example of this modification ans the California Cutie will follow in it's footsteps.

Personally I think this is the best of the Green P-38's and the clean nose (no rocket tubes) really makes a big difference on the Lightning mold.

I LOVE that new P-38 paintscheme! I've been content for years with my origional D-Day P-38, and it looks like its time to get another  Also, the fact that its named "California Cutie" and that I'm from California (and have spent alot of time in Long Beach) makes it all the more meaningful :D

It also seems to have that antenna mast underneath the nose, which would be nice if it is on the producton model...

Well, so much for my "Luftwaffe ONLY" writings/purchases/etc., This P-38, California Cutie, is a MUST HAVE.....there is something about the Invasion Stripes which add so much to an airplane and the OD upper surface is too cool....all right, all right...the "cutie" is nice too!! 8)

I agree with the statement that this is the best P-38 since HaleakalaII put in an appearance.

I noticed that the pic has this P-38 listed as S8. Is this really the 8th different paint scheme? Here's what I can remember
S1- D-Day silver
S2-Samantha Peyton olive drab
S3- Putt Putt Maru
S4 Haleakula II
S5 Shark Louise
S6 Pudgy
S7 ?
S8 California Cutie

The order might not be quite right, but what am I missing? Was it that the Putt Putt Maru was released twice?
