I think you are stuck with ebay, though I've seen the price drop back down to about $50 which is what they were at Etailers anyway. Best helo around, you won't regret it.
G'day Hawkeye
I hope you are successful, I have the Land Cam version which I purchased locally at great expense, but I just had to have one as it is IMHO one 21st' s better efforts.
While you’re at it may I suggest that you get yourself a pair of these guys:

Available a http://smalljoes.com for US$4.99 each.
I found these pilots to fit the best and the figures articulation allows both pilots to actually have their hands on the controls, especially for the pilot in the back seat who is able to hold onto both the collective and the stick.
The new BBI Night Stalker figures sat a tad high and due to his width I had trouble trying to get this figure to correctly hang onto the controls.
Better still if you are able to score a pair of BBI AH-64 APACHE Pilots somewhere then you would have super crew as their helmets look to rock.

This ass bitten penguin is the Stuka unit badge for 6 StG 2 and this one adorns my own custom XD Stuka.
To me I think it looks like it's running of at the mouth, a bit like my forum responses and thus somewhat appropriate
Thanks for the pix Spud'!

Hawkeye--not to steal Spudkopf's thunder here--but the propellers on the landing gear were actually there to drive sirens intended to scare the crap out of ground targets as the Stukas attacked. I kind of consider the Stuka that original A-10--just not nearly as lethal, but then again, a plane diving at you at 250+mph with machine guns blazing and sirens howling would tend to make a serious psychological impact.Hawkeye wrote:BTW, I dig your custom. I have not had the heart to customize any of my bbi aircraft. I dont think I have the skill to make them look better. I would like a second Blackhawk to turn into a rescue chopper though.
What is the propeller-looking object on the strut of your plane? I dont know much about German aircraft.
BTW--love your customs! You have given me some serious inspiration for my Apache team, as well as my ground forces...

To add, on a side note, to what FD (good explaination) said above, the name "Stuka" is a shortened version of it's real name: SturzKampfFlugzeug....literally sturzen is to fall or tumble or dive, and of coarse Kampf is to fight or warfare or combat, and the easiest is Flugzeug or airplane...thus it is a diving combat airplane. With that said, it is VERY easy to see whey the Ju-87 went by the name "Stuka"

Thunder stolen hardly, as I think I have very little thunder to steal
, in fact if you have not noticed I’m winging it here most, if not all of the time.
The sirens or "Trumpets of Jericho" as the dive sirens were also known were apparently an idea of Ernst Udet. It is curious that the vast majority of Stuka images show the siren to have been deleted or at least the mounting for the sirens faired over. This seems especially true for photos of the later B and R models, I guess it would seem that some of the physiological edge that had been gained was now being over shadowed by the aircraft loses brought about by loss of air superiority in which the Stuka needed to ply it’s precision trade. However the sirens were re-introduced on D models for use on the eastern front.
Talking up the Stuka we so desperately need the D or G models in both 1/18th and 1/32nd scales, I may be wrong but IMHO the tank busting under slung canon armed G model should be a big sales hit, and with some well placed tooling, both the D and G models could be produced from the one tool, so to all those hidden members logged in and reading the forum
please give it some thought. Oh after the He 162 or Do335 I mean……
Go ugly in 1/18th even earlier go Stuka.
....and oh Hawkeye (back on topic) the AH-64 and UH1A/B/C are the only choppers missing from my collection. at the moment

You don't realize how close I came to bidding on that one, too, until I saw your post. My land camo SuperCobra "crashed and burned" a year or so ago, and I have tried repairing it, but some parts just won't take nicely, so I have been watching for potential replacements, at least until I get distrac... Hey wait, someone has a P-38 listed...Hawkeye wrote:Thanks for the history lesson guy, I really dig stuff like that!
Still highest bidder on the Cobra, yea me!
Also bidding on a Huey. I dont have one of those yet either!

Only problem is, the Apache helmet was developed just for the Apache - it is not a common bonedome for heli crews. The 'dome that comes with these figures is actually the right one to use.Spudkopf wrote: Better still if you are able to score a pair of BBI AH-64 APACHE Pilots somewhere then you would have super crew as their helmets look to rock.
I've got one of the Navy SEAL pilots shown and one of the desert camo'd Army pilots sat in the Snake Cobra - my excuse is that the Army wanted to have a look at the Marines' new toy...
I was lucky enough to find the Kiowa Scout in a TRU down in Florida while on holiday a few yearts ago - 15 bucks! and a real pain to fit in the suitcase... ended up with (clean

I used a couple of these guys. They fit pretty well, and look a hell of a lot better than the original pilot guy.

A couple of head swaps and I was good to go.
Does anyone know if the Snake Cobra was made in greater numbers than the standard camo variant? Or is the disparity in Ebay listings due to the standard camo helo being more popular, and thus less likely to be put up for sale? I know I'd never give mine up.

If at first you don't succeed, try, try again. Then quit. No use being a damn fool about it.

I dunno, I'm pretty happy with the one I have. The only thing I might like to do differently is the chin gun. It's a little bent up.
Here's mine pre-BBi crew.

I think I'll take a couple more this afternoon with my new camera.

Not a problem.
For what it's worth, I had to wait quite a while to locate one of these on Ebay for a reasonable price. I think I paid $60 or $70 for it shipped with Buy It Now. The next closest I've seen for this particular scheme was over $100 with auctions.

Hawkeye here's some more image (fresh from this morning) to whet your appetite (as if it needed anymore whetting) and to show how my crew sit in my ship.

Jeffrowse in regards to the helmets that is how I kind of I thought it to be, but during a lengthy Google session (one that went way to late into the next morning) I thought I recalled seeing evidence of helmets simular to the AH-64 ones in use, but having looked back on it now these may have been associated with development images of the AH-1Z and so I stand corrected, the BBI pilot figures are perfect as they are.
