AT "Kate" in 1/32 debut

Post by MG-42 » Fri Jan 05, 2007 10:32 am

Yeah,... I read it. ... I think it's exciting news for the 1:32 scale collecting front. I'm happy about this debut myself considering I collect both 32nd. and 1:18. I'm glad AT is experimenting with different scales. ..... Next up in this scale ,.. "armor I hope". + 8)

I do not want anyone to get there hopes up. As I stated in the Direct from the Source forum, the decision to go into production with the 1:32 scale line has not been finalized. We are just taking the models to toy fair to judge interest. If we can pick up a couple of good contracts on the models, then yes you should see them. But 1:32 does not sell well on line and the numbers required for production, to bring the cost down to what you are accustomed too, is very very high.

Regards,
Jason

Thanks Jason,
I know we are used to seeing these at a fairly cheap price, but if AT makes an above grade example (good paint/better detailed), I would be willing to pay more for it ($20-$30) and I know many people that would do the same..
If you look on this forum and others (Modelhangar- Diecast Aviation Forum/UK) there are many, many people that collect this scale and the numbers are growing everyday..
Since Corgi has bowed out of the 1/32 diecast arena, customers are clamoring for new 1/32 product.. This leaves the market wide open for someone to come in and offer a higher grade product at a reasonable pricepoint, which to me, sounds like an opportunity for Admiral Toys to take this scale to new levels..
