From what i have seen of Admiral's work i don't think complexity issues are a problem for them. Their engineering seems to be first rate and they would be quite capable of making either the A-10 or F-14 with no problem, should they decide to do so.

If AT did make the A-10 or the F-14 it would be the best ones on the market.

Unfortunately, I don't think it matters to a lot of people which one is best. Admiral's first two releases in 1:18 were met by annoucements only weeks later by the big kid on the block that they were going to release the same subject Admiral did. I saw posts from quite a few people who had cheered Admiral's release stating that they were going to wait for 21st's instead for various reasons, including price and being able to see what you're buying at Walmart rather than ordering online and dealing with the shipping and mystery QC issues that come with it.

I'm sure Admiral lost a significant percentage of sales by this needless duplication of the 1:18 market, and that they really took a hit in their profits that otherwise could have been plowed back into producing more great 1:18 planes. We all saw pics a few years ago of other planes sitting around that they are considering releasing over the next few years. I feel Admiral thinks they have to go obscure to avoid announcing something else, only to have 21st pull something off the shelf and give China the order to put it on the fast track.

21st (and BBi to a lesser extent) both have sweet distribution deals with major chains which MUCH MUCH less risk than Admiral who is dealing strictly with online and small hobby shops. Until Admiral really finds their niche (or a dist. deal with Target), or surprises everyone and hits a homerun with a 1:32 scale B-17, I'm notting getting too upset for various misdirection plays or lack of info on their part.

Man, I wish AT could get a deal with Target! Drives me nuts that I can't get my mil toy fix when I hunt there. Maybe some figures while you're at it, AT

Speaking of AT...

Where is Jason, and more importantly, the AT staff? I've tried calling them (during normal business hours and adjusting for the time zone difference) with no response.

I'd like to know what the deal with my ME-262 is going to be. I got responses from both Jason and the AT customer service in late November saying they'd replace the plane (which came in a trashed box and missing the wing screw covers) as soon as the next shipment came in. That has already happened and no word yet from AT...

Guess they're on Christimas break (and I wouldn't blame them for that

) but I hope they carry through with their earlier promise!

I am still waiting for the replacement antenna and a canopy windscreen and canopy, I guess they will get to it after the New Year, I have faith in Jason and AT.

yes i'm pretty sure Jason said he was taking the week completely off and it may well have applied to all the staff at AT. They've been working pretty hard, so some time off is in order.

That would make sense, and the brake is well deserved! I just don't want to get lost in the shuffle, especially after they confirmed (in November) that they would rectify the situation! Thanks for the sympathy

I hope all of you had a wonderful New Years celebration. Our celebration was nice. All is well in Dallas; though I have made my return to Houston. Tomorrow all will be back on the clock, with the exception of LaDonna. She had a beautiful baby girl. She and the baby are doing well. The rest of us will be working on customer service requests and questions over the next couple of days.

When we receive a customer service request, they are filed according to the aircraft the request is for. For example we have a dedicated file for ME 262 QC P1. Therefore it “should” be very difficult for us to misplace a request. Many are correct with your deduction that we have been very busy with the new shipment, holidays and preparing for toy fair. The shipment arrived 2 days before we started our holiday vacations. Therefore, there was no time to remedy any customer service requests.

Thank you for your patience. Your requests will be processed very soon.

Dear Members,

Here is a copy of an email that you will receive if you had a customer service request with Admiral Toys CS:

Thank you for your patience. We have received a shipment of “completed” White 8 ME 262s. Completed means no parts accompanied the shipment. Therefore if you are waiting on screw covers or other missing parts your request will be remedied as soon as possible. We were on the phone with our facilities all night trying to understand the reasons the shipment of parts has not arrived. Our facility claims they already airmailed the parts to Texas. Therefore, we have requested a tracking number from our facility and expect a response soon.

Because we did receive a completed shipment of ME 262s, replacement aircraft will go out today or tomorrow. Unfortunately this is good news for only ten purchasers that are waiting on complete aircraft. We know that there are several requests for items other then screw covers; however, the majority of requests have been for screw covers. We do not understand why the screw covers were forgotten during production on several aircraft, but rest assured that this type of quality control issue will be remedied in future productions.

Our quality control is improving and our customer service is still the best in the industry. Unfortunately this aircraft arrived later then expected and this in turn put us in the middle of the holiday season. Just like you, everyone at Admiral Toys has family and friends with whom we enjoy spending time with during the holiday season. But now everyone is back and working hard to make Admiral Toys the company that makes you, and all at Admiral Toys, proud.

As a side note for all of you on this site, it is currently very difficult to get in touch with China. There was an earthquake in Taiwan that severed some of the cables that links China to the rest of the world. It is very difficult to get a phone call through and email is much delayed. This is just another one of those unexpected things that sneaks up and frustrates your day!

Digger, when we finish the A-1 let me know. I myself would like to see it! I am trying to find where this rumor got started. I love that aircraft, but I know Admiral Toys does not have one in production at this time. Sorry, but you need to guess again.

The next round of guessing will begin in a week or so. Here is a preview of what is to come. Ya'll are too good at that guessing game so, I am going to have to make it a little more difficult:

Well after some of the comments here, I took my 262 out of the box again to give it a second good look. I see nothing wrong with mine and screw covers are there and flush with the skin.

This plane looks better the more you look at it.

Now where is the kettengrad?????????

While your waiting for someone to make that all elusive Sd.Kfz 2 find yourself some 1/18th scale oxen, as I've seen photo's of pair of these animals being used to tow aircraft between the dispersal and the flight-line.

Some time ago on evilbay I got a nice late war coloured balsa wood european style wagon added acoupla bruder horses from 3000toys, harnesses from KB, and figures from 21c. Given the work the guy put in the wagon to begin with, it's turned into an unusual (but commonly used) late war german transport

1:32/1:18

Ladies and Gentlemen,

The new guessing game of a 1:32 scale aircraft will begin in a week or two. The nice thing is that you will soon be guessing on a 1:18 aircraft as well. The hints on the 1:18 aircraft will be written not photographic. I think it will be much harder to guess. Unlike the Hellcat, this aircraft has not be shown in prototype or talked about by Admiral Toys. Therefore there will be no presumptions. I will wait until closer to toy fair to start the 1:18 hints. Unfortunately, I will be in China for a couple of weeks before toy fair. Therefore the hints will appear while I am in China. This means my response to your guesses will not be as timely as if I was sitting at my desk in Texas.

As a side note, the hint I spoke of in a thread some time ago, still has not been guessed. I will make my intended hint the last hint before toy fair. Therefore you will see the hint I intended, and at that point we can start the tomato throwing once again. Aferg, I am looking in your direction.

Dear 1:72 Collectors,

I am sorry that we have been very secretive about the 1:72 line. This is for good reason. We have been trying something new with production in the 1:72 market and it appears that it is actually going to work. In a couple of weeks, I will tell you more about our new offerings and why we have been taking so long to release information. I do not think you will be disappointed. A true collector should be very happy.

We will have several of the new offerings at toy fair in New York. There, retailers will see what we have been up to and they will be the determining factor on whether several of the new products will be produced. Therefore, get on the phone or email your retailer and tell them to stop by our booth and make an order for the new line of artillery and obscure tanks. As you know, Admiral Toys is a manufacturer and does not sell a lot of product retail. Therefore our retailers have a lot to say when it comes to obscure productions.
