Call me a little slow, but I've been hearing for a while that the first series Matchbox Collectables F-86 is John Glenn's plane. This would seem to be a correct assesment as its markings and "Mig Mad Marine" noseart are perfectly accurate - see link:

However, why then, does the Matchbox version make no note of this famous aviator having flown the plane, and why does it say "Pilot Mike Keenum" on the starboard side of the cockpit? See the links:
