Close up of an F-14 from the right side to the side of the windscreen and somewhat below, capturing a portion of the antiglare paint mask and the fueselage.

Before toyfair we see the prototype, feb 14=hint of the tomcat, and the day we see the paint master on the official site.

btw I think there is a Kate in 1/18 however the 1/32 one was made to tide interest and see how many retailers will go for it @toyfair also to get feedback ahead of time from us. I get the feeling the 1/32 stuff that admiral has tentatively planned will be cost more than the competition but with good reason due to having many of the same moving features as the 1/18 toys aside from articulated pilots.

I expect a price range no higher than $40. If the retailers do not go for the 1/32 then I think the 1/18 will be released in summer.

And I hope we get an F-14.........AWESOME!!!

(With their F-5 coming out, I can finally come close to recreating topgun with toys!!!!....something I have wanted to do since I was 3).

Jason, what liveries do you have planned for the F-5 and what armnaments? Also what about an F-20?

IS VF-1 Wolfpack's liveries in consideration for the Tomcat?
Shin's wishlist for 1/18 and 1/32 with retractable landing gear and more:

F-14 Tomcat, F-8 Crusader, A-4 Skyhawk, F-105 Thunderchief, A-6 Intruder, F-15C, F-15E Strike Eagle

To much modern stuff for me, give me an aircraft of history that actually had to be flown and was used in close aerial combat not this I'll put a rocket up yer butt from a 150 miles away and if my computer locks up then my aircraft falls out of the sky. Modern jets = ground attack aircraft not ace pilots- you can have 'em...... 8)

Ok, well personally i'm getting a bit weary of the games, and double talk.

We were certainly lead to believe that the plane we were guessing on (which turned out to be the Kate) was a 1/18 scale product. That turns out not to be the case (maybe, perhaps, possibly, who knows wtf is going on).

Now we are supposed to be lead around by the nose again, are we, another guessing game? For Jason's sport?

Jason, when you have concrete news that you'd like to share with us do so.......until then, maybe you should concentrate on your work at Admiral Toys, rather than playing silly games on here. Personally, i don't appreciate being toyed with.......absolutely no pun intended.

I invite comments from other members of the board as to their feelings about this incident and any opinions on how it should be dealt with.

Though I know some are disappointed (including me) that a 1/18th Kate is still a question, I thought it was fun.. :D Certainly kept me guessing and checking the boards..

Purty sure Jason is just havin fun as we are or were and is just continuing with the game, anyway it does keep people very interested in this subject and in this forum and we definately want Jason to keep runnin his mouth no matter what games are played- that is just what they are, so just go along and who cares if this or that aint what it appears, keeps me commin back to look and run my mouth at it and that is my 2 cents worth or was that more than 2 cents? No dis-respect intended...... :)

Agreed. There's nothing about toys that's a life changing event. But we do now know where to place the hints we get - inside a big barrel of salt. :D :D

jEEZ...someone sounds a bit grumpy now that they're thinking they won't win the 1:18 Kate they thought they would in the guessing game...

I think this is all good fun, and I also truly believe that Admiral may not know exactly what scale they're going to make a Kate in at this point, and may not until after Toy fair.

I say if people don't like this method of product reveal, then go away. I like it, it's more than we're getting for other manufacturers, and it drives forum visits and discussions which is always a good thing. It's not like anyone had money riding on this or anything, so just take a chill pill, Christmas is 2 days from now and these ARE just toys.

So the Kate will be 1/18th or not? If its in 1/32nd scale then I will pass because I have no interest in 1/32nd scale anymore. If I want a 1/32nd scale bird I will build my own.

As for having to play mind games and being toyed with are concerned well all I can say is that I'm staying neutral on that subject because many people would get angry by what I would have to say on that subject.

I agree. I will be very disappointed if the Kate is not 1:18, but the game was/is fun and I really appreciate Jason communicating with us at all, as compared to BBi, which tells us nothing, and 21st, that tells us news about new releases long after we already had store reports from across the country!

One day.... Admiral will kick out a 1:18 B-17 complete with 10 crew, bomb load, machine guns and the whole nine yards.

Then all will be forgiven.

I enjoyed all the madness but would definately prefer the Kate in the full glory of 1:18.

:D
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!

Hmm....but not until then. :x

I've had a pretty taxing month, and perhaps my sense of humour is lacking a bit right now and i've overreacted. Jason's posts are appreciated but if it's going to be the case where you never know if what they say is truthful or deliberate misdirection then he becomes like the cigarette man on the x-files, where you never knew what was going on....just endless circular riddles.

Personally, i find that rather tedious, so perhaps it's best that i just stay away from the guessing games from now on and just wait to see what product gets plunked on the shelf.

 Sorry about that...maybe it was wishful thinking on my part..don't know where it started but I will cut it out.. :(

I understand Andrew's points, but my greater fear is we will have a bbi situation where we get nothing from the company until they darn well please, and they will ignore all inquiries in between those times. If 'fun' is the way AT chooses to communicate 'coming soon' then I am fine with that (and Jason is the man with answering questions so we would hate to lose him). I am with the guys who say if you don't like it don't read it. Same with any "coming soon" news don't read the threads or the board if you rather have no info. It will give you the exact same result - no info.

EnemyAce, no need to be such a big wiseass, there is at least one other company that shares plenty of info, and I am sure there are people who feel the way Andrew does but are afraid to post (and not because they didn't win something).

Well, mmmmm...... 1:32...... That does suck.

I don't mind the games at all. They keep people thinking and keeps the interest up. But for Pete's sake, please be clear on the scale! If I knew it was going to be 1:32, I could of ignored the whole thing and not got so excited on something new and original in 1:18.

Thanks Jason!,

I have had an exellent day!, my car died on the road, with no clue of what's wrong, spark plugs are good, wires are good, the coil is new, the battery is good, but no spark. Now I come home after 4 1/2 hours in the shop, by bus, freezing my ass off in the rain, with no car, and I read the Kate is 1/32. This is one of those days where you just want to sit in the corner and cry untill you die.

Not to mention what an exellent time to be without a car, and the dealer is closed, so if it needs any parts, they only open on tuesday.

Been a fun day hasnt it?!

I'm confused!!So...does this mean AT is jumping into the 1/32 market? 1/18 will always be my first choice by far. But if its 1/32 then....let it ride :D

No need for name calling digger, Enemyace had his points as do you. Thats what this forum is all about. No need to call names simply because he doesnt have the same opinion as yours.

VMF115, I can give you a hint of what is coming next year. We will have a couple of aircraft in 1:18 and a couple of tanks/guns/vehicles in 1:72 scales. The aircraft (which I am assuming you are most interested in) are all new to this market. No company has manufactured them before. You will be surprised because they are not your standard sure sale items. We will take a risk or two this coming year. I think there are plenty of P-51s, F-4Us and the like, available to the market. We just might go out on a branch and offer you some aircraft that would not be manufactured by the others. We are not in the business of stepping on other’s toes, and would like to produce aircraft that would not be on their list of planes to manufacture. I can say that two of these aircraft are well on their way to production. You will learn more about these aircraft in the next couple of months. Sorry, but this is all I can say.

Regards,
Jason

Ok all, maybe I'm actually onto something this time --- Jason edited a post from way back in August that talked about upcoming aircraft - just a few days ago! On p. 22 of this thread you'll see the above post with:

"Last edited by Jason of Admiral Toys on Tue Dec 19, 2006 12:57 pm; edited 2 times in total" written after it.

Why edit a four-month old post unless it has something to do with the current hint-in-a-post mayhem? I couldn't find any sneaky double-talk hints in it though. Obviously a Kate and an F-5 are both items that haven't been done in 1:18 and are more "out on a branch" vs. a P-51 or F-4.

What do y'all think? Yeah, I'm sure he has some other lame excuse for editing an old post; just struck me as odd.

Well, I am still ok that is 32x. I will have it hanging in my classroom. As for the game, I enjoyed it. It was a good time. Am I let down that there is not an announced 1/18 version? Yeah, just a bit. I will see what else Jason has up his sleeve and let the games continue.

Well, I for one am very disappointed. I was only interested in it because I thought it was 1:18. Not to be a complete downer but please, in the future, clarify the scale. I wouldn’t have bothered with this thread at all if I had known it was 1:32. :? I’m glad Admiral is breaking into new territory. I wish them luck with their new line.

I have no problems with the guessing games. I just don't get too wrapped up in them. I am really just going to wait until Toy fair for Admiral's announcement of what will be new for 1/18. Didn't Jason keep repeating that we will have wait until then to know what really is coming out? I guess I am one of the few people who just wasn't that excited about the Kate. I've just never been much of a fan of Japanese aircraft. I hope there are some good suprises in February.
