DocTodd,

You are the first one to bring that up! I met you in Houston, and I knew that you were a quick study. 8) I cannot pass one by you, bravo. Regarding the hint, “why did I change forums[?]” no one has spoken up, besides DocTodd.

Latter on today… it will be revealed... maybe. Tomorrow many of you will be guessing and swearing at me again. Maybe the KATE, in 1:18, was just a smoke screen.

I am sure you hate me now! But trust me, the slow pain and agonizing feeling of defeat will change into hope very… very soon, think February/ish. You will love the "Mrs." at that time! (Now I am stealing your ideas) and yes, that WAS a hint, or an admission.

Regards,
Jason

Outstanding !!!!!!!! :D

I Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!

I really appreciate the time you spend on this forum to keep us informed and help us from time to time, it make my heart feel good when a company that cares so much about it’s customers as it does about the products it makes. You can count me in for a preordered, as soon as it listed on your website. Along with all the others you make……I must now go back to bed. :D
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

You guys just keep on trying to break my strict (obviously not so) collecting rules. Having spent quite some time going through my references and the Web while trying to ID the Kate, I now have this yearning to buy myself a Zero.

I must admit I have secretly toyed with the idea for some time but have till now been able to convince myself that I am not at all interested in this early war time period as far collecting is concerned, then "Bam" AT get my juices running with the Kate.

One request I would like to make at this point to you Jason, is that if AT do eventually proceed with an A6M in the future could you please consider a late war subject like the A6M5, I have always liked this version of the Reisen for it’s gritty agricultural look due to the exposed exhaust stubs of the beefed up engine it mounted. This would also give the AT A6M a significant point of difference from the other example(s) currently available.

Image

Some links to airliner.net images of the A6M5

http://www.airliners.net/open.file/1055001/L/

I also hope you had time to enjoy your Birthday, it was my works Christmas function today so I was not able to keep my finger as closely on the proceedings here as I would have liked, I also ate far to much (knew I should not have gone back for that second serving of BBQ'ed salmon) and now I am suffering the consequences, the couple of drinks that I had may also have contributed but I'm still blaming the amount of food.

I take it that the original hint has still not been discovered and as I am obviously quite a sick puppy I'm strangely looking forward to your next set of mind games in the New Year.

Jason,

Any hints and sneak peeks of your upcoming 1:72 armor like what you're doing with your aircraft? You mentioned switching forums, I hope you will still keep all the armor enthusiasts on the other forum kept up to date as many of them don't frequent here.

A stretch... :)

Ok, why would Jason switch forums.. The other forum is "Direct from the Source" and more specifically for Admiral Toys..

That and the fact that TKO knows leads me to believe that there is something going on between 21st Century and Admiral/Jason.

I'm thinking an acquisition? Or a joint effort.. perhaps 21C is supplying the crew for the Kate...

Perhaps AT is going to be the high end division of 21C.. or 21C has hooked AT up with WM to leverage their distribution channels... ?

Lots of possibilities, but there is clearly something going on.. :D

um, Jason. I hope you're not suggesting that AT is not in fact making the Kate in 1/18 scale; that it is in some other scale instead?

As you know, making false Area Reports is punishable by death, i can't even imagine what the punishment would be for doing something like a false product report...

Mrs. could be referring to sweetheart and he mentioned february and February 14 is the day for sweethearts and it could be abbreviated as F-14. :P

Toy Fair is before Feb 14, so whatever Jason's referring to would be revealed prior to that...

Holy Crap! You are right! It looks 1/32nd scale, and this would explain why it was moved from 1:18 forum to the direct from source forum. If it is 1:32nd, I will be completely let down

That is right, look at the pad in relation to the plane! Then again he did mention not to get to wrapped up in this mock up either.

I would have to agree with that. If its not 1:18th then that’s total crap. Better be 1:18 or there might be a huge mutiny.

Well, it would make sense if it were 1/32. We had a feeling AT was going in that direction, and with the Zero, F5 & A-1 in the works it really seemed to good to be true that we would get a Kate as well. Don't get me wrong, I would love it in 1:18 but it would not be a complete surprise if it were indeed 1/32..

Could it possible be 1:24 scale.

After looking at the full picture I would have to agree its smaller than 1:18.

1:18 is my favorite.

Jason... please say it's really 1:18

I too am in the "It better be 1/18!" crowd. I would be disappointed if it wasn't. I am anxiously awaiting a 1/18 subject from Admiral(I have one of their 1/72 Panzer IIIs. Fantastic!) that qualifies to join my collection. The Kate would definitely qualify.

Well if the Kate is 1/32[which will be very disappointing] and the Zero and F-5 in 1/18th JEEZ! Yawwn and great big jaw crackin' yaaaaaaaaaawwwwwwwn. The 2 zeros are enuff allready and the F-5 Freedomfighter or F-5E Tiger II, whatever flavor you want- man the best known use of the F-5 as an aggressor aircraft to provide a realistic enemy for training USAF pilots in the course of Soviet tactics..... zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Keep in mind that for pretty much any 1/18 or even 1/32 model, a smaller-sized mock-up is usually made as part of the development process. If the aircraft we are seeing in the pictures is not 1/18 scale (as appears to be the case), we may also be looking at a smaller scale mock-up. Plus if it IS planned for 1/32, it is a lot easier to develop a 1/18 version than it would be to develop one from scratch.
Jason hasn't told us how close this plane is to actual production, so let's not give up hope yet!

Hello my friends,

First, let me congratulate the peoples that figured out the forum switch hint, nice detective work. TKO knew about the scale a couple of days ago. I knew that if I kept the guessing in the 1:18 forum that the backlash would have been much more severe then it would if I posted the hinting in a nonspecific scale forum.

Yes, the Kate you are “viewing” is in 1:32. But do not read too much into this. So, be doubtful and angry with Admiral Toys if you want, but remember that nothing is necessarily as it appears.

Digger, when we finish the A-1 let me know. I myself would like to see it! I am trying to find where this rumor got started. I love that aircraft, but I know Admiral Toys does not have one in production at this time. Sorry, but you need to guess again. :)

The next round of guessing will begin in a week or so. Here is a preview of what is to come. Ya'll are too good at that guessing game so, I am going to have to make it a little more difficult:

Happy Holidays,
Regards,
Jason
