PMA/Minichamps Kubelwagen

Post by Moth » Thu Dec 14, 2006 1:51 pm

Does anyone have any photos of the Kubelwagen from PMA/Minichamps?

I am thinking of buying it, can some one tell me the good and bad points of the model, and how is the accuracy and detail.

Also, does anyone know where to buy the Grey one?
I only found the desert version

Thanks for the help! :D

Moth,

Razor is quite right, it is very nice. Tons of detail, dials are decals, engine compartment is well detailed and inside the cover it even has a tire pump!

Here is a bit of the front of the Kubel...not much of a shot as I used it for background.

The sign of a great model is that one’s eye is not drawn to any one feature, yet one can study it for hours and continually find something new.

The Motorpool I think still has them.

When I gave up on finding the 21c one, I picked up Minichamps grey one, and don't regret at all. Unlike 21c's you can get regulars sized guys in it, I've 3 in mine plus misc gear! It also has a nice heft to it, which is always good.

The main complaint (too strong a word here) is that it looks too clean and new, even the rubber tires shine. All easily fixed when my new 'roundtuit arrives.

Oddly enough, I'd been looking for the desert one to go with it and found both at themotorpoolnet for around $70. With 21c's hitting close to $50 (at least when I gave up theirs) on evilbay, it's not so bad. It's really fairly common, just google minichamps 1/18 kubelwagon.

What I was disappointed about mine was that, yeah, you could get a driver in, but be careful as you have to jiggle, wiggle, and SQUEEZE him in there without breaking something, but no one can ride in the back seat unless you take the legs off...other than that, it is a nice vehicle!

>>> This is also part of the reason I sold mine ,.. "open top" for one thing w/ no other option and unlike the smaller scale FoV version w/ "detachable top" ,.. + too clean. ... v MG
