I found a Stuka and Pioneerpanzerwagen at WM in the Clearance section for $13! Bought 'em, posted them on here and SOLD them. Upon boxing them up this morning, I saw the treads MISSING on both! So I opened the packages and found the tread AND wheels MISSING on both on the side facing the box!!!!! Also the boxes of bombs were missing on the Stuka facing the box AND the machine gun on the wagen!!!! I got RIPPED!!!! How could WM place them in the Clearance section if these were damaged?! HOW? Cause I don't think ANYONE there even knew!!! So I though I was being a HERO

here finding this new stuff on clearance and trying to sell them to someone here for the GREAT price I bought them at...instead I would've ended up being a JERK

for trying to sell BROKEN stuff!!!
So BEWARE in the Clearance section-CHECK IT OUT before you buy it!!!
Needless to say both are going BACK to WM...and this time I gonna ask the return clerk to PUNCH OUT the window on the box so it doesn't end up BACK on the shelf!!
I guess the ol saying remains..."If it's too good to be true"....

Don't beat yourself up for it. Anyone can make a mistake when it comes to not noticing a damaged item. For 13.00 bucks, someone could make a good custom out of it...
I would take them back and see if they would give you anything else off of them...

It's not surprising that some of the items are broken. Almost every single toy dept at WM I've visited since the Christmas shopping rush began looks like a tornado blew right through the aisles! It seems like they were selling their toys off the floor!!!

Just got back from WM. Told the lady at the return desk what happened and why broken stuff ends up in the Clearance section. She said broken stuff doesn't end up in the Clearance section. Making me feel that I stole the stuff out of the package! Worst experience I ever had!
Quixote511, you'd be better off if your wife DOES buy it online!

I would call the manger of the store and give him an earful, if that does not help then call WM HQ and be the loudest squeaky door.

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Bob,
If anyone knows you and has dealt with you, they know you are above board with ALL things: posting above shows who you are-honesty always counts. Your are a credit to this forum!! Now with that said, do you need someone to fly wing on your WM CAP sortie?! Count me in

I’ve seen stuff like that happen around here before. My last personal favorite was when I found a BBD in the new P-51 box. Wal Mart is pretty lax with their returns so people do crap like that all the time. Usually I see stuff that’s in the wrong packaging and not really missing parts although I bet if I were to really look close they would be.

I just came back from the Walmart where I took back those two damaged German halftracks the other day...THEY ARE BACK on the clearance shelf! So I pointed it out again to the clerk there that these look damaged-he said that's why they're on the Clearance shelf...and so it goes.....

I wouldn't mind it if they were to put a label on them saying "damaged" or "parts missing", and make sure they are priced accordingly--for the right price, they would be perfect for customizing. But when I see perfectly good regular M3A3's clearanced for $13, asking the same amount for a damaged item with about 20% of its parts missing is a joke... Sounds like time for a letter to Wally...

Bob--don't get down on yourself. You tried your best and that's what matters. And as for Wally, we all know the song and dance. No body knows what's going on there.

Yeah, I've seen a FW190 with a swastika on the tail (which means it was upboxed, something likely broken, then reboxed and returned) and I also happened to see a guy returning a P47 Razorback (Donnie Boy) in a P47 Bubbletop box. My guess is the guy bought the razorback on clearance, wanted the bubbletop, so he switched boxes. I once found a Red 3 190 with PERFECT paint and got it home and noticed that the ties weren't like they come from the factory. Got the thing open and the landing gear was broken on one side. Guess somebody opened it, broke it, then returned/exchanged it.
