Yeah, VMF has figured out how to play the beat AREA-21 game. So I have had to impoy a new delivery system. Article should be up in the next hour or less. 21c is approving my text for the article as we speak. AREA-21 is public / fan facing tied directly to the corporation so I have to dot my i's and cross my t's there. I have a little more flex her on the boards being that I am a "civilian" over here!

Hang tight guys the news in on it's way.

Ok, I am sitting here in my hotel room in Calf just getting caught up on all of the hype! We all know how TKO loves to build up a drum roll and reads all of our posts, quote posts. quote posts with comments, etc. before he drops the news. I say we post one aircraft what we each think it is going to be and bet on it! Winning post gets...whatever TKO can muster up for getting us all excited about this!
I bet it will be a Dauntless.

That would be great!!! I don't have room for it at home, but at work, It would do real well. As it is I have to stare at an awful 1/100 scale dried out, cracked, pealing mahagony, missing prob blades, etc POC, that I would me more then willing to show something much better. Besides I saw it it at Long beach while it was still in flyable condition before Evergreen tore it apart to move to Oregon. Well at least they saved it from who knows what, but it is not flyable now. they had to cut the main spars for transport, oh well, I quess.

yes you called it, right after i did......lol.

I don't think those are RATO pods. Look like air to air rockets to me. Drop tanks a nice touch. I don't think the nightfighter carried bombs but they are a welcomed extra for sure. :)

looks like the left nacelle might have panels that can open to view the engine also.

What kind of paint scheme did these ME262 night fighters have? Were there variations on the schemes?

limited for sure, as with anything not very much mass produced, but some for sure. IIRC schemes were usually grey/lt blue with mottling over the upper surfaces. Not many made, and very limited service. Very welcome, indeed.

Very much a welcome addition.

Those are indeed RATO pods under the fuselage. A typical paint scheme would be RLM 75/76 grays on the upper fuselage, black lower fuselage and under the wings and RLM 82 dark green on top of the wing and horizontal stabs. I'll go through my references and see if I can find any other schemes.

Now that's sweet! I am VERY glad to see that 21c has decided to make a different version of the ME-262 than the Admiral Toys version. It allows for a certain measure of co-existence in this hobby and will do a number on our pocketbooks

21c put some of the features I thought they would put in the plane: the bombs, opening gun bays, etc. However the fact that they went with a night fighter design with the radar antena 2-seat cockpit is very cool. Hopefully it will come with two figures! I just might have to get one when they eventually come out :D
