I echo Ski's comments on the Graf 109. What an awesome plane and a great job by 21C. Very crisp and clean paintwork and nice fit. The cockpit detailing was a nice surprise.
Small Blue Planet also sent a sheet of 8 swastikas with the plane, attached to the packing slip. The 8 consist of 4 pairs of different variations (solid black, clear with white outline, black with white outline and black/white/black). I'll have to check on which pair to use for Graf's plane.
As with several other 21C planes, this plane is a fine tribute to a fine pilot.

btw, what's a "clowny face"?

That red tulip on the nose of the Graf plane looks like a big red clown's nose to me.

Don't sniff the prop, it will squirt you with water

Perhaps not water, but 30mm ammunition, as thats where a cannon was mounted :P

The pattern, I heard it described as a "sunburst" pattern once, makes the plane seem like its going incredibly fast to me!

Hartman's black tulip seemed to be laid out exactly the same way, so I assumed it was a tulip.

I wonder if Graf's red tulip had the same effect as Hartmann's -- the Russian pilots recognized Hartmann's black tulip from a distance and avoided combat with him, thus prompting Hartmann to remove it. I'd be curious to know if Graf experienced the same.

Is the 21C Series 2 Me-109G a Hartmann airplane?
Looking at the posted pic at BCA, the plane does not seem to have the black "tulip".

ME 109E Found at Walmart

Post by jmd250 » Mon Feb 07, 2005 11:45 am

I ran across two Tropical camo's and a Galland version at walmart. They were in the 21st boxes instead of motorworks. Nice planes. I picked up all three. So I have a Tropical to trade.
