Anymore R/C Vehicles in the works?

Post by mrkisskissbangbang » Fri Oct 27, 2006 5:39 am

I know a lot of you were disappointed with the 1:18 scale Panzer IV that came out a while back, but what would you expect for $50.00? That's not too bad.
The Tamiya 1:16 scale tanks go for a lot more.

I was just wondering if 21st Century or any one else was going to make others? It would be nice to have some r/c adversaries. I'd pay up to $100.00 for better quality and more capabilities. I've seen the 1:16 scale Tiger 1 that can shoot BBs. Why not use their technology to build better R/C tanks? Not too sure if they are all that good. But they can shoot BBs and elevate the gun barrel.

Cheers

Actually, the last RC Panzer IV released was much improved versus the previous models. The two main points that would need to be corrected to make it just about perfect would be to slow the tank down (gearing would be the easiest way to do it), and perhaps add an elevation feature for the main gun. Having seen what 21st is capable of, a 1/18 RC Tiger would be really nice to see. Plenty of room in that one for all the RC guts. Heck, if they could do a Panzer IV, even a Sherman is within the realm of possibility. How neat would that be?

There first R.C tank WAS going to be a sherman. Was being offered through FAO Schwarz .Was even shown on the web site.but I guess it fell through and none were made as far as I know.
Could not think of anything to put here.

I'd like to see them do another one, especially in a new tank. Wishful thinking, but I'm hoping 21C does an RC t-34.

Well, there would have to be a T-34 first.

I just thought of a few things.....

Which feature would people want more?

A) A tank that can shoot BBs or someother type of projectile?

or

B) A tank that shoots infrared beams at an opposing tank. Four hits and the other tank gets disabled? Just like the Tamiya products.

There are pros and cons to both.

I forgot about the 1:6th scale M5 Stuart. Any word on any others being built in that scale?

Cheers

Give me BBs. I'd be using the tank to take out some of my trains and figures. The IR doesn't do much for me.

Well, I have a Tokyo Marui Abrams, but mostly I just drive it. It wouldn't kill me if the airsoft feature was omitted to save cost. Then there'd be no need to worry about putting someone's eye out. lol

There are many possibilities for future 21c armored vehicles, given their non-RC armor collection. I'd personally really like to see a Sherman (and see it as being likely) as well as the M-2 Bradley to keep the paired WWII & Modern theme.

Mrkisskiss.......:

The 21C RC Stuart was perhaps the best item has ever put out and probably the best 1/6 toy, 21C ever WILL put out.

No new talk of anything else new in 1/6. As a matter of fact, there may be nothing else like the Stuart ever. The talk of a Panzer II or III in 1/6 RC to do battle with the Stuart, never came about.

It is a shame, but 21C is beginning to give us all surprises lately, so only 21C knows.

I know of very few 1/6 guys that don't have at least one Stuart, and alot of guys have more than one (I have two). It only takes a new barrel to make the 37mm gun look realistic (available in metal for about $60) and a few accessories readily available to make the Stuart look really good.

After the 1/6 Stuart and White Scout Car, I'd realy love to see 21C come out with a companion German tank and a RC WSC and, and maybe a couple of RC halftracks, one German and one U.S., ............but then I also believe in the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and the Great Pumpkin.....

With all the 1/6 cannons and vehicles being brought out by DML, DID and our smaler makers, I am afraid 21C is leaving the very productive and growing 1/6 scale hobby for others to reap.
