E2C Hawkeye... damn der Vogelfänger haha!

Post by MiG29K » Wed Oct 18, 2006 8:14 am

Okay I just saw the ceiling of der Vogelfänger with the swarm of aircraft buzzzing the ceiling and I know that there is a slim chance of this happening but I think an E2C Hawkeye would be incredibly bad ass in 1/18 to complement the F-18 or any future Modern Naval Aviation related aircraft. By the way der Vogelfänger, is that a 1/48 scale plane you built? I also like the P-3 you have up there too. That ceiling is a fricken candy store.

Have you seen an E2 Hawkeye with the new 8 blade props? Those props look awesome.

Oh yeah, the new E-2's look nice! There were a couple at Oceana last month. I'll see if I can scrounge up those pics.

It would be super cool to have an E-2 in 1/18 scale, but it is hard enough finding one in 1/48. As much as I woul love an XD E-2, I don't think I will hold my breath.

Hunger strike anyone???  :|

Thanks for the comments....no, all the airplanes flying above the 1/18 scale babes are 1/72. I'm not sure if there is a 1/48 E2C; of coarse, if there is one (under $100) I might have to come out of "retirement"-self imposed after discovering 1/18 scale-and build the blasted beauty. Eight blade prop????Wowwwwwwwwww....that must be beautiful. The P3 is in high vis as you can see, and there is another one, partially built, in the den closet which was supposed to be low vis, IF I ever got around to it.

Glad that my pix are prompting additional "dream" offerings for 1/18. We all know that the sheer size of these twin prop-types MIGHT prohibit their being offered, BUT I'm sure that we could certainly fork over the bucks for any one of these "diamonds-in-the-rough" if AT or 21C or BBi wanted to put us to the test. Note to AT or 21C or BBi...the sound of money going to your register is "ka-ching, ka-ching". Sounds good, doesn't it?!

While we are drooling, speaking for myself (hopefully not), why not----I know, "there he goes again"---why not an S3 Viking, say Navy1???!!! Naturally the Navy1 would go very nicely with the Bush Avenger. Glad I am on another vacation week, I can daydream and not have to worry about a Supervisor* giging me for it. 8)

Thanks for the good posts regarding my pictures....

Is that not sexy? I really love the "super props" on the Russian aircraft, the C-130J Hercules and now the Hawkeye.

DUDE The New E2C is sick sick sick!!! but After looking at those blades I hate to say it but I want an Orange/Strawberrry Smoothie. Don't y'all???

And on the technical note, I am assuming that the blades make for more efficiency and power...and great Puree's eh?
