New 1/72 FOV Vehicles at Target

Found the following at a San Diego Target: Hanomag with Wurfrahmen 40, Russian SU-122, T34/85, and US Halftrack. At 7.99, what a steal! Not quite Dragon quality, but not $20 either. Each vehicle comes with at least one figure (the Halftrack has 3 figs). Happy hunting!

PS, there was an M113 too, but I'm not into the modern stuff.

Wow! Those were the same FOV vehicles that went to the small retailers and were then almost immediatel discontinued! The Hannomag is a new one. I'll have to keep my eye out the next time I'm in a Target, as I wanted to get one of those Hannomags.

In fact, I had just checked one of my two local Targets yesterday. They still had last year's vehicles.

The Target in my area - NW Louisiana - still has last years FOV 1/72.

I Dunno how responsive Target stores are generally to customer requests but it can't hurt to contact the manager and ask about ordering, or even special ordering specific items. Maybe they can get them from other stores if not the central warehouse.

Target won't do squat for a collector! Have your wife or youngster ask they respond to them. An adult male forget it, they act like you have the plague.

I live in Arkansas (home of WM). They have a strict "no helping the customer" policy.

Stopped at Target today and they had the new StukaZuFuss Hanomag and Russian tanks in 1/72 scale.. They also had the White Coastal command Hurricane, new Corsair and Stuka..

Hi,
You're not going to believe this but Unimax is already reporting that they are sold out of the 1:72 scale Stuka zu Fuss halftrack and M113 APC. There's a remote chance that more will come in by year's end, but with Xmas around the corner, we're of the opinion that they'll be hard to find in short order.

Word of advice -- pick 'em up now before they get scarce.

That would be the "hobby edition". There will be plenty of "mass market" 251's to go around. "hobby editions" are made in limited numbers before "mass market" editions are produced. "mass market" editions are open stock until retailers (target) no longer want more, then production starts on next wave. This info straight from unimax.

I was just about to ask about that since what Target sells is different than regular retailers. There was a post a week or two back that said they received an email from Panache Place and were told that Target will get as many as they want and to no limit.

To me this is great news since the weathering seems to be the only difference between the two. A simple dry brush can achieve the same effect if not better.

Still no sign of them in any of the half dozen Targets with 10 minutes of my house, but I'm keeping an eye out.

I'm not sure if there is a distinction between mass market and hobby editions in this scale. I could be wrong, but I dont recall seeing two different types on the FOV site.

There is a Hobby version in this wave of the 1/72 scale...I have both versions (although apart from the packaging, there's very little difference between the versions as the weathering is rather subdued).

There is a difference. There's the "enthusiast series" and the "action series". The difference is in the weathering, with the cheaper "action series" available at Target while the slightly more expensive "enthusiast series" being available by everyone else.

Pictures of the two compared to each other, courtesy of Mikes Tanks. The tank in the front is the "enthusiast" and the one in the back is the "action" series available at Target. Same tank, just a dark wash on the enthusiast version.

Hi,
Even though I havent seen either vehicle in the flesh, Unimax confirmed today that there is a difference between the action grade and enthusiast version in the 1:72 scale line, particularly in regard to the M113 APC and Stuka zu Fuss. They're also working to get more inventory in by the holidays. Dont know if they'll succeed since it takes time to manufacture a new run then transport them by ship to the US. Lets keep our fingers crossed that more will make it in time...

I found these vehicles in the Detroit area yesterday. Very nice. Wish I could find a 21st Century Priest around here!
Also, and I don't know if anyone else has mentioned this yet, but we also found four new Forces of Valor 1/32 soldier sets. There are two 82nd Airborne, one German, and one modern 35th Infantry. Same figures as before ( at least in the WWII stuff, I never looked closely at the modern stuff in the old sets), but only four guys to a set now. However, they now come with items from the accessory sets that Forces of Valor released earlier this year to Hobby Stores. Stuff like furniture ( armoir, clock, bathtub, chair,etc) as well as ladders, new barrels, the watchman booth, one of the striped barrier gates, etc. Just FYI. The figures still come with the popeye arms, more's the pity.

I found them at my local Target as well finally. They had loads of the 2006 releases. The 1:72 tanks are the exact same that you would find anywhere else except for the lack of weathering. I compared them to the ones I already had and could tell no other difference. Excellent.
