Hobby Master
Hi All,
There could be a temporary supply disruption from Hobby Master. We received an email today from the distributor indicating they were no longer carrying the line. No reason was given for the decision and thus far we arent certain who will be distributing the line within North Amercia. If we hear anything further, we'll amend this posting.
Cordially,

That's too bad.
I was REALLY looking forward to the MIG-21s.
Unfortunately, I'm not in a financial position to order any more toys right now, so I can't even pick up the "Big Fish" Polish MiG-21 that's already arrived.
Hopefully, there will still be a few around in a month or so...

Hi Gunner,
We can hold a Polish MiG for you if you wish. No biggie since we have a few extra. As for the distributor situation, this could get resolved quickly if another distributor steps forward soon, hopefully before the holidays. It could also be a case where Hobby Master wants to sell their own products, much like Dragon does here in North America.

Re: Hobby Master
Hobby Master has gone with a new U.S. distributor Historic Sales. Hobby Master felt their product wasn't being handled well enough so they wanted a company with good contacts and knowledge and they found that in Historic Sales. You can read about it here.lightning2000 wrote:Hi All,

Let me assure you there is nothing to panic over, it is merely a business move to better serve the collector.

I appreciate it, but I was more looking forward to the German MiG (and future paint schemes). If there was going to be a SERIOUs problem, I would have tried to get a couple of the "Big Fish" scheme, if only to do my own paint jobs later. It sounds like its only going to be a short-term glitch, which is good.We can hold a Polish MiG for you if you wish
The timing may actually work out better for me this way...

Hi Dave,
I'm not that familiar with Historic Aviation. Should I assume that they'll stock the military vehicles as well as the aircraft line? I didnt see any ground vehicles on their web site, unless I was missing something...

P.S. Never mind. I did some drilling down and see they carry some Corgi and Dragon vehicles...

Re: Hawkone
As far as I know they will handle the entire line of Hobby Master products. The CEO Rick Apple has already been in contact with me so this shows me that he is as keen to please people as much Hobby Master themselves are. He is fully commited to providing the best service possible. They have placed an order with Hobby Master and Hong Hong has a rush on it so it can be delivered as quickly as possible. Historic Sales will be taking retail orders on Monday as far as I know. If you don't get any information about ordering from the new distributor just email me and I will give you the CEOs email address. They have a big meeting planned with their staff and others to layout how things are to be run in order to provide the best service. I have a good feeling about this arrangement, there is a lot more interest being shown by the new company.lightning2000 wrote:Hi Dave,

Hi,
Sounds like a plan. Frankly, I always wondered why the former distributor never seemed to update their Hobby Master section when you were posting all of the latest developments on your site. Strange goings on, if you ask me...

In an effort to improve Hobby Master’s public awareness of their great products they decided to find another distributor for the U.S. market. The new distributor is Historic Sales, you might know them better as Historic Aviation. The Historic Sales people are well versed in the sales and promotion of the products they distribute. Historic Sales will be attending trade shows and doing promotions of the Hobby Master products.
The ink is barely dry on the new contract so there will be a very brief interruption of supply until the latest models are shipped to Minnesota where Historic Sales are based. Also Hobby Master and Historic Sales were not given a full list of retailers that were already stocking Hobby Master so if you are a retailer and haven’t been contacted by Historic Sales yet please email them at vendor-info@historicaviation.com
with your contact information and I’m sure someone will get back to you. Hobby Master hopes that you understand that information of the ongoing negotiations could not be revealed until an agreement was reached and I believe that took place Thursday September 28, 2006. The people at Hobby Master apologize for any inconvenience this has caused or might cause but they assure you that it is for the betterment of their products and better service for the retailers and customers. As far as I know Historic Sales will be taking orders from retailers starting Monday October 2, 2006.
Later today I'll have phone numbers and names of the people at Historic Sales to contact, it will be on my Retailers Page and News Page. Check later today.

They recommend waiting until noon Monday so they can have their two Hobby Master specialists ready to go, take your orders and answer questions.
