!:32 Grumman F3F-3 Biplane Navy Fighter

This plane was a kit I picked up mainly due to the working features and it being 1:32 scale. The landing gear deploys and retracts but pulling the prop out and turning it. The flaps work and the canopy opens. This was an old kit, so the decals were pretty tough to work with, but I got them on eventually. The landing gear would probably be too intricate for a company like 21st to produce, but there are other prewar biplanes, like the Boeing fighters, that had fixed landing gear and might be a viable project to mass produce...

when I was a kid. Molded in orange plastic IIRC. Someday I may pick up the plane you modeled, as it is one neat bird.
Looks great in the pre-war colors, or perhaps built as one of the few that the Nationalist Chinese used against the Japanese.

I didnt know about the Chinese using them. I would have liked to do the plane in a "other than prewar Navy " scheme. I had seen the similar Curtis built plane in the early war time paint, but couldnt find any of the Grumman in blue/grey. I love the pre-war biplane fighters, but sometimes the paint schemes are a bit bright.

I did see them in the racer version from various sources, now that you mention it. I wouldnt mind doing one in Chinese. Any web pics available to look at?

My mistake, it was the Hawk III/BF2C-1 that I was thinking of.
