It's not the "Otto" from Minichamps.

Oh and both the front and rear license plate numbers match the original gray 21st Century Kubel.

I know a guy that had one of those. Is it a 21c Kuble? If it is I have seen it before.

I’m not sure if this is the same one or not but this is what I thought it was when I first saw your pic. I thought I had a better photo but this is the best I could find. It’s in the bottom left corner. However this one doesn’t have the green so i guess its not the same one.

7th, not sure.. that's what we're trying to find out. Might be factory or might be a custom.. ?
toyktdlgh, I can't see the photo you posted for some reason but there was also a prototype DAK kubel from 21st Century but it was never released and doesn't have the green striping. Picture of DAK kubel seen here:

If you look at the picture of the bottom you can tell that this is a custom. The over spray on the skid plate and other points on the bottom gives it away and there is even over spray in the interior floor. Also the back side of the wipers are gray too and the over spray on the windshield suggests masked off. It would be eazy to mask off the license plates and stuff to paint and have them after. Looks good, but my guess is a custom.

MG-…That one is yours? I thought I recognized it. For some reason I always thought yours was the one in that picture I have. I guess not. Still a sweet Kuble.

Ok, so that makes it only one sighting so far. Raider, do you have more information about this Kubel? Was it a fan club thing, ebay, given away by 21st Century at a toy show?
To be clear about why we are asking.. We would like to put this into the SSHQ database as an official Kubelwagen but need more confirmation (if possible) on it's origins since so far it appears to be one of a kind.
TKO feel free to jump in here with some official 21st Century thoughts.

That is a custom 21C kubel. Adding it to the database would just confuse viewers.

I would back digger on that. I have NEVER heard of an officially painted S2 Kubel. I was here when they came out, and the Kubel only was released once in grey....

If this Kubel is not a custom and was got directly from 21st C, I would say it was like that DAK ME-109 that someone has, a one of a kind. I would say it was a paint mock up and a mistake that it was sold to someone. One reason I say that is this looks to be painted by hand with not being taken apart completely. If it was a production version the parts would not have all overspray like they do. It would have gone with the Tiger and Hanomag of similar paint, so I could see that happen. And if I remember right the DAK 109 looked to be hand painted too.
Raider, did you get this direct from 21st C?
By the way, does anyone know whom as that DAK 109 now? All I remember was that it was placed on ebay and sold for big bucks.

With that information I would say it is a custom that someone was trying to pull a fast one, unless we find the person that got this item in a store or direct from 21st C. Even if they got this in a store I would be skeptical on the origins, because I have seen many odd things that were done by dishonest people. It just doesn't look like a production piece IMO.

raiderad6 wrote:That one looks just like one i had but sold to another Forum member. It was definitly not a custom. I was told by 21st that there was a short release of these a long time ago. So if the guy i sold mine to still has his that would be two sighting of this Kubel.
I guess this is the post that created any doubt that it is just a custom job. This info that is supposedly "from 21C" is wrong, it was never released like this. If anyone at 21C disagrees it would be great if they came on here and said so or relayed their story to TKO. Until then I would like to think that if it was ever released like this someone on this board would have seen it.
