I could play along when I watch "The Bridges of Toko Ri"

It's a cool plane.

The Navy equivalent to the F-86 Sabre was the North American Fj-4 Fury. There is still one flying at air shows, and it is a great looking plane.

It's been a long road, but I am still in the game.

I am all over that Idea

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!

Yes, the F9F was the Navy's Korean War counterpart of the Air Force's F-86, operationally.
Once faced with the swept-winged MIGs, the U.S. Navy was hot to trot for similar swept-winged aircraft. Thus came the FJ-2, -3, and -4 Furies (all supremely beautiful aircraft!) and the F9F Cougar. But none of these were in service soon enough to see action in Korea. This left the Panther as the Navy's combat counterpart to the F-86 in Korea.
I'd absolutely love to see a Panther in 1:18. (also a FJ-4, although a repaint of an F-86 would not work, as they were significantly different)

I like the F9F. It is a pretty cool little plane. Perhaps we will see one eventually.

This F9F flew combat from the USS Kearsarge and USS Boxer.
I have a pic of it in the air somewhere.
Yes it used to fly.
