XD M3 Halftrack questions i have three..

Rounded rear corners was a characteristic of the International Harvester Corporation manufactured half-tracks M4, M9's I think. They also had flat front fenders, unlike the rounded more asthetic fenders of the Whites, Diamond T's and Autocars.

That make since, because wasn't most of the lend-lease stuff International? I could have got the number wrong. Could have been M5 halftracks too, but again I'm know sure.

Currently I only own two MV's, a M-37B1 and an M-882. Both Dodges, both post war.

I've owned a ton of vehicles. I went thru about 10 years when I bought every MV I came accross. Rather than have them junked, I'd save them for a fellow MV guy, to come along and I'd sell it. Some running, some not and in all kinds of condition. I've always owned at least one M-37 while I had other stuff, like my Command Car for shows and parades, but I drove an M-37 every weekend. My house looked like Fort Dix for years, with everything in the driveway and yard, from a CCKW and our M3 Half-track, to our 57mm Anti-tank gun.

I've never lost money on an MV, and some I sold I've made a nice profit. I was never into the hobby to make money, I just love MV's and liked to play with them.

Now, back to this thread......The Russians liked our M-3 Half-tracks with the 75mm gun. We didn't, not powerful enough a gun. The Russians used it as artillery as well as anti-tank.

Great site. It is always hard to find good sites with the information you are looking for on some things that are not main or widely know. Most of the information I found about a year ago when sreaching for Russian troop/cargo trucks never turn up that site and most I could find was International or Studebaker. I guess you do learn something new every day

I guess I wasn't wrong, other than saying the M2 had the rounded corners and most items were International. If you go down the line a little furth you will see the M5 International there too.

Check out the link grunt posted. Some odd and interesting Russian Halftrack trucks are uder the Russian Stuff. That should answer your question.

I wish I could find some sites like that for German, US, British, Japanese, as well as other. Very cool site. Not much information, but great pictures with color and live photos.
