Hey guys I need some input here. I want to buy the 21st Century Spitfire DWK. Now this is my very first foray into getting a Spitfire and I want to know if its a good buy and worth getting. I'm a collector of Mustangs and Corsairs and hopefully down the road Hellcats but I wanted to get a Spit to honor the boys who flew in the Battle Of Britian and I heard that DWK is one of 21st's best. Also if someone could could you point out the working features and so fourth? I guess the bottom line for me is is the WDK Spit worth buying?
Let me know guys and thanks for your help.

I have one of the Spitfire models, and I really like it. It really captures the look of the Spitfire, and I really think you will like it also.

I see you asked this last summer too so you may want to refer back to that thread as well:

You could have enjoyed one for a year by now! Take the plunge!

One detail I really like about the Spitfire model are its wheels and tires. I know this is a small detail, but they just look right, capturing the look of the prototype.

I particularly like the ZPA model, with the alternating black/white underbelly. The D-Day Spit is a nice one to have too.

The XD Spitfire is well worth it! It is one of the better models, in my opinion. The plane is well detailed, and as previously said, captures the look of the Spitfire. My favorite is the NKK version, but the DWK and ZPA models represent examples that actually took part in the Battle of Britain

It's definately worth the purchase. I would get DWK if I were you as it is THE BoB plane in the series. Malan's aircraft is more suited to the invasion of France more than anything due to the split camo....

NKK is immediate post BoB period and ZPA and DWK are BoB era. DWK is more typical of how Spitfires looked then and is a beautiful model. I have it taking off across my living room floor as we speak.
Note that the DDay spitfire is the least accurate of the bunch, as it represents a Mk V but does not have several of the detail differences represented in the Mk V plus, the DDay stripes are backwards.
i never met an airplane i didn't like...

Could someone post a picture of their DWK for the SSHQ db? It's one of the few items left to do. Thanks!
Also, Aferg.. you had to go and pick on the only spit I have (D-Day).
The stripes are backwards?? Ack!

I can no longer look at it the same way.
Must buy another Spitfire I guess. (Twist my arm) lol

tman, that's perfect thanks!
Aferg, I am keeping my eyes crossed and the stripes look fine now but for another $40 I could uncross?

Oh yeah- The spit is nice plane to have in the collection. I personally like the NKK best with DWK after that.
Roy is WAY into the RAF stuff and his favorite of the 21st Spits is by far the DWK.
So I would say go with DWK as far as what the experts and the majority of fans are saying.
