I'll be going down to the LA metro area next week on a business trip. Will use the evenings to scout around for the Avenger.
When I travel/fly I take a duffle bag with me just in case I find some ( 1/18 size plane) like item at the local WM so that I can carry the duffle bag with me on the plane and check my luggage. I have done this twice and got a RidgeRunner and Corsair back.
With the Avenger being such a large box/plane I dont know if it will fit within the carry-on rulings for airlines.

Super Walmart in Festus, Mo had 6, well now 5 cause I bought one :D
Anyway, if anyone is in need I can go pick one up for you. The plane goes for $69.99 so $76 would cover the plane and tax, plus whatever shipping would be. Nothing for me, just trying to help out the guys w/ AWD
Also all the Avengers they had where the Alantic version

BTW the ones that already have an Avenger, where does that black lookin'
antenna thingy go :?:

Okay Teamski I have to laugh at myself. I threw away my box and did not even notice the little black thing. That's one more for the keep your box people.

In regards to an earlier post about a blue paint Avenger, negative. Went to the Walmart today that supposidely had it, and nothing but an Atlantic Avenger. Will deliver a swift kick to my informant for the misinformation.

Ok I think I will have to stop looking at this thread for awhile. It is a bummer to see all you guys having fun with the Avenger, and I can't find one here. :(

WW2collector is making a pretty decent offer. I just recieved my Avenger, otherwise I would take him up on it. Then again two are better than one...

I was satisfied overall with the TBF. At first I thought the prop was too small, but when I compare it with my Monogram 1:48 model I built 20 years ago, the porportions looks right. The body plug issue is certainly one that should be addressed by 21st. It would be good of them to offer them up as replacement part for those who have purchased the TBFs. The holes certainly appear to be "machined to accept the plugs. The holes are there, but not very detracting. I will end up doing the eraser or putty deal in the future though, The friction lock tailwheel always freak me out. I always think I am snapping something that shouldnt be snapped. The main gear is excellent with the user friendly sprung locking strut. Very nice. The wings fold nice too. I wonder if a little graphite in the hinges would be in order as the releive some of the stress when bending?

Overall a great effort by 21st. Now we need one in 1:32 scale, please, please, oh, please...

SF:

I can see this scene right now; those of us without the Avenger are like Dudley Moore running on the beach in "10" seeing the Avenger, a/k/a Bo Derek, running toward and then PAST.....yeow, it is an ugly analogy, but it seems to fit what the rest of us are going through. Yeowwwwwwwwwww.

Regarding the screwholes, has anyone thought this might be an opportunity to finish out the navigation compartment like this other 1:18 custom builder?

Looks Good now i need to do that and put one on the canopy top.

The pitot tube is in the same bag as the torpedo. Unfortunately, you have to drill the hole for it in the wing....

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!

Guys, if you are needing a Avenger that bad, I know the Super WM about 9miles S of me had 6. I bought one, and another forum member picked one up this morning, so that should leave 4.
I was there last Sat and they had 6, went back yesterday and still had the same amount. So they are not moving very fast.
So again, if needed I will go buy the rest, then you can buy them from me and just pay for shipping. It comes out to $76 that is w/ tax. Shipping might be $10.
If interested PM me. Of course it will be 1st come, 1st serve deal. I dont want to make the trip just for one plane.

Just trying to help :)

Those of you who have gone to Wal Mart to find the toy section in complete disorder, broken down, empty shelves, etc and this is a new development over the last day or two and not the typical order of your Wal Mart toy store, what did you find next?

In other words, after they put it all back together, did the Avenger show immediately?

Did they not show after the department was broken down and put back together?

How long did it take for the department to go back together? A day? a week?

Any ideas on this is greatly appreciated in saving gas and time as my Wal Mart toy department refuses to ever answer the phone... I'm starting to wonder if they even have a phone, and I live more than 30 minutes away.

Thanks,

mike

Report:

As of 7:00 pm last night (Thursday) the Super Wal-Mart in Coral Springs, FL located on 441/SR 7 & Sample Road... They have six Atlantic Avengers on the shelf, all with perfect paint and boxes.

Priced @ 69 dollars and change.
One hundred and fifty three - 1:18 scale aircraft on the ceiling looks  damn good!
