I went to three Wal-Marts here today, and no Avengers. I kept looking up in just about every dept, but no luck.

As I NEVER saw the P-38 in WM I don't know the price, however TRU were what about $50? For S1, which I didn't buy being that I didn't like the S1 Me 109 that much. However I still have it in good shape and want to fix the gear to sit right. I believe there is a collector mod?

About the Avenger costing $70, personally speaking I could care less about the price. This plane is gots tons of goodies for the price.

3 crewman, rotating turret, bombay, folding wings etc...

This will sell much better than that 1/9 tank, different market base. (R/C toy for Christmas) Plus I have an hunch the F-86 and Mig 15 will be a combat pack and I'm sure that will be more.
So start getting used to higher prices. IMO

To all those wanting to wait... think again! How many times do we hear "oh I shoulda bought______________ when I saw it" And now are coughing up to buy it off ebay :D

Now to ask those that have theirs, does the plane reflect the 3 years plus design and production effort?

DH

OH Woops  I thought you told me to ONLY do a PM.. my bad..

Even though I dont really like the Avenger, I intend to keep this one because I've been looking forward to it for two years, I waited and now I've got it. what more can I ask for?

If you need an Avneger someone on the boards will get it for you, not me because I can't be trusted..

Anyway since it's commercial merchandise and not a personal trade, I couldn't ship it before I got payment, which is apparrantly unnacceptable upon these terms.. (everyone thinking im that guy that cheats everyone)

Catman.. It isn't necessarily that..
It's because ur a Noob... I certainly wouldn't trade with you unless you sent first just because of that and most people on here probably feel the same..
On top of the fact that you have only been here less than a month and already racked up more posts and had more problems than anyone I have ever seen in that amount of time definitely sends up a red flag..

I was just at the WM in Newport News on Saturday and saw the new Stukas And BH Corsairs ( I saw your earlier post on this Andy, I must have just missed you!), but no Avengers. Looks like I will be making the trip down 64 again this weekend . As long as I don't come back empty handed the trip will be well worth it!

Andy, Rob, & Sgt. Fury,

I found eight this morning at the Princess Anne Rd. and Lynnhaven Pkwy. WM in Virginia Beach. Norfolk WM (Janaf) didn't have any Sunday and Battlefield Blvd. WM in Chesapeake didn't have any Saturday!
Good Luck Guys, They are awsome, despite what catman says!

No, I never accused you of anything and you obviously didn't read my post all the way thru, so I'll re-phrase it...

WM can't dictate who a supplier sells to, but they can demand adherence to a contract performance clause.

I think 21st got burned and to live up to their obligation to their single biggest $ customer, they had to deliver product or face some unknown penalty.

What might be telling about the situation is WM believes in the market enough to enforce delivery contracts, which means the product(s) are experiencing enough demand to make WM enforce them.

If WM was seeing soft demand for military-related diecast products akin to the Avenger, you can be they would have let 21st off the hook.

Bob..... Thanks for the info! I assume there were four at each store? Anyway, if any of you guys in the Hampton Roads area are going this week to score one for yourselves, would you mind grabbing one for me? I would be glad to meet you somewhere down there on Saturday to make the swap, payment in cash of course.

Yeah, I am paranoid that I'm going to miss out. After all, its only been what, three years of anticipation?! (I can't wait any longer!!!)

Thanks fellas!

I'm planning to hold out for one of the other paint schemes. This might be a challenge - if I see the Atlantic version first, will be hard to resist.

They must be hitting the largest distribution centers first. The Denton Distribution center is one of the largest in the country and they were spotted there first. We got ours in San Antonio about a week later. You guys in the Midwest can't be far behind. Let us know if you need any. You guys are going to love fitting the guy into the rear gun turret. If you are careful, the whole thing comes right out. He fits better without his parachute.

Sorry about the recon! I too have spent the weekend looking for the Avengers! I have gone to a total of 7 WMs here in DFW from Roanoke, Lewisville, Carollton, Addison and Farmers Branch. I even went to Denton's WM, the next closest WM to Gainsville, and 'no-show'! I expect them to hopfully this week to start showing up here since it sounds like they are appearing in BFE locations across the mid-west and calf.
If I recall, the first signings of the Zeros were in remote WMs and within 2 weeks they were trickled down into the rest of the WMs. Can some one clarify this?
Alright guys, I travel about 3K a month on business and we have facilities in Denton and Mckinney TX (and going to Memphis, Little Rock, KC, OKC, and Witchita). I've sold my lot of planes on ebay (enough to cover my drive back to Gainesville, and to cover buying my own plane) and I saw 8 of these sitting on the shelves in McAlister OK. I'll be heading back to TX probably about the 2nd week of Sept and will be going through McAlester when I come back your way. PM me about the 1st of sept if you still haven't found an Avenger and I can pick you one up and leave it at either our Mckinney or Denton locations. You can paypal me actual cost and if they don't have the planes I'll send your money back immediately, if they do I'll leave the planes at the properties and you can pick them up at your leisure. This is all on the assumption that you don't find one in the meantime, which to be honest I think you'll find one in the next week on your own. Just an offer on the table if you can't find one. Hworth, I come through Tulsa quite a bit on my way to OKC and visit properties in Broken Arrow and Owasso so offers open to you too. Let me know if you guys can't find Avengers and I'll keep an eye out for you. I don't really want to ship them as it's a pain to dumpster dive for shipping containers but you guys in my AO get in touch with me if you absolutely can't find a plane and I can leave them at places I visit for my job. No guarantees but I'll pick them up if I come across them. Mcalester is in the middle of BFE and their XD just sits so I expect those 8 planes will be there for awhile.

I think you may be on to something... These are being seen in California, however, there is a big chunk (the central part) where the Avengers are non existant. They are in Los Angeles & San Diego; in the Bay Area and a little ways out from there, but not much further. Those are all port cities. As was said in another post, I'm really scared about missing out on this one, or at least finding one six months from now when it appears on the shelves in my area. I and all the other committed board members) have waited too long for this plane to have it pass us by. That's partly why I have still kept my BCA preorder...

Hate to bust your theory Tman or at least throw a monkey wrench into it.
I got word that a member spotted a bunch near Indianapolis, IN. Not to many ports in that neck of the woods...

What about military bases? Is that still holding true or just a fluke?
