One of the big gaps in my 1:18 inventory is air transport.
There have been a few smaller haulers - e.g. the XD Huey and BBI Blackhawk, but anything that could carry a larger load seems to be sorely lacking from any manufacturer. Yeah, yeah, I know - any true 1:18 scale air transport like a C-130, or even a MH-53 or CH-47 would be ridiculously huge!
The only thing I've stumbled across able to carry airlift 12+ troops or a small vehicle like a jeep or humvee is Chap Mei's knock-off on the CH-46 Sea Knight (currently in some TRUs boxed as the TRU generic brand Elite Operations). I believe one of our board members was grafting two of these together to make a more realistic CH-46.
Has anyone come across options in this very absent category?!?!? I'm all ears for fixed- or rotary-winged options in anything roughly 1:18!
1:18 Lacking Air Transport!

How about wheeled transport??
How many guys do you haul in a half-track or a Command Car. Forget about a CCKW, its only a dream. Dodge 1 1/2 tonner??? Where is it??
Do we only dream about a convoy of CCKWs, some Dodge 1 1/2 tonners, a few Jeeps, Command Cars and a few half-tracks along for convoy protection.
Dream on...........

The ONLY trucks currently close to 1:18 are the Highway 61 1:16 series. I've been looking for over two years for supply and transport vehicles, and have found virtually nothing. Most, if not all, of the "1:18" die-cast I've thought could be promising are really 1:20 or smaller (RE: the custom german fuel truck on auction). Too bad, because there are some nice die-cast in those slightly smaller scales. Maybe someone with modeling talent can take one of the 1:16 trucks and customize it into a transport. In my dimensions, they acutually measure out to be about 1:17 or so.
