'Nam' figures

Post by tderespino » Sun Dec 19, 2004 11:57 am

I now remember why I hate painting,,, I can never wait 'til the paint dry's to touch/play with the figure...

here is something I have been thinking about for a few years.

I wish I could buy fully articulated Vietnam action figures in 1/18th scale with realistic weapons and equipment, but nobody is listening.

Tom,
I really like those NAM figures and i agree with 1000%%...I have a Nam diorama in 1/18 myself and i love there would be more NAM 1/18 available. It is a great topic for diffrent dioramas and it actually is one of my favorite military conflicts.
May be we can do some NAM stuff together or at least help each other out in looking for stuff.
Most of the NAM stuff i have is the origals that i bought or some that i have traded for.
by the way what figures did you used for the NAM figures and what accessories?
well take care,
HOOAH!

It would be great if BBI would come up with some NAM figures!!!
or better yet a plain figure that could be ajusted to different eras with different accessories.
if only BBI was listening!!!

the Figures

the body is the driver of the new GI Joe desert strike humvee Rollbar.

I did not like his head so I used BBI...

rollbar did not have wrist articulation so I cut off the hands, drilled a hole in the wrist and added 21st XD hands.

Rollbar also had static feet/boots so off they came and I added BBI boots and articulated ancles..

The gear is 21st helmets and m/16

The web gear is a combo of BBI breacher harness, GI joe web belt and 21st century ammo pouches...

I tried to get the color close as possible, I used Matt Humbrol paint

Count me in for a new Nam series from BBI or some other company willing to give us Realistic Uniforms, weapons and equipment.

I bought one of the 21st C M113a2 just so I could pull all the stuff off and make an ACAV. I just don't have anybody to man it. The Nam series XD stuff is getting tough to find on Ebay and I can't find the ones I bought back when the line was fresh...
