Groudpounders is the site that is the origin of this forum bird. Although he visits from time to time, family and business are taking up most of his free time. Most of us (old timers) here are grateful to have found a web site with such like minded people. Again we can't thank you enough P-51.

The older collectors have a similar story, the S1 stuff at TRU, same here for me, the panther was first, then me 109, then sherman, passed on a lot of stuff later
I was always a tanker, and just freaked when I saw the Panther, as I have the Tamiya 1/16 stuff and no one made a 1/16 Panther. Still don't?
Anybody remember the 1/6 Bradley, in 2002/2002 TRU had tons of 1/6 stuff, I didn't buy any then either, but my 1/6 is like a few solders and gear and the Kubelwagen, RC Stuart (still in box)
I actually have all my stuff, the first few early ones are without boxes.

The first 2 XD ground items I got were the Walker Bulldog, and the Hanomag, the first 2 XD air items I got were the German Starfighter, and the Seeman BF-109G-6
The reason I listed 2 was because I bought them by twos
Still kicking myself for not buying the American halftrack with the Hanomag
I hope I can get another chance at the new repaint showing up at some Wal-marts (which are not in my area
)

I think Doc Todd and I were seperated twins from birth! My story is pretty much the same!
Found both the S1 mustang and 109E at TRU. I was hooked and all funds were diverted to anyting 21st would pump out with wings! Figures and armor soon followed.
GOOD TIMES! I have several friends hooked on 21st stuff now!

I remember..
I guess it was several years ago, cant remember when S1 XD first came out, but was in TRU with my sons and I saw the Sherman and the S1 figures. I loved this stuff, the models, when I was a kid and the quality and the fact that the XDsoldiers were individuals struck me. I thought they were just great so I began my second childhood then and there.
re:
Wandering in tru, looking for 1/18 diecast cars, I had a collection of over 300 at that time. saw this huge me 109 on a top shelf---got one down looked at it put it back.
Went home and could not stop thinking about it for a week. Went back and bought it the next weekend.
That was the first 109 #12. My birthday came up and wife bought me the d-day p-38 and the corsair....................then came the armour and other planes and figs.......

Last 2 1/18 aircraft hanging from the ceiling in TRU as displays, S1 Mustang and Samantha Payton P-38. %50 off both and that began some serious collecting to the point I opened my own website and started selling the stuff!
I still get excited opening a new box

Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Let me hear your guns!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: My what?
Colonel "Madman" Maddox: Your guns! Ack, ack, ack, ack, ack!
Captain Wild Bill Kelso: [fires his airplane's guns] AHHHH!
