Rest assured that I will keep looking for bubbletops at
any Wal-Mart I have to see.
Did I tell you that the P-47 is my favorite WWII fighter?

I was at Far Out Toys today when he called 21st. He was told that the bubbletops are about 2 weeks away from delivery. So it looks like your online stores will have them soon.

I think they were first spotted in Nor Cal, if one looks at the beginning of this thread. They weren't in any of the Fresno area Wal Marts, but I was only able to get to those over a month after the P-47s (and then M113s) were spotted. Save for a single M113, there wasn't anything besides FW-190s, Desert Bradleys, and 1:6 Stuarts. No P-47 Bubbletops.

The only thing I can think of why the bubbletops haven't hit in earnest is that the vast majority are sitting in containers behind stores waiting for room with the Christmas rush. Last year, this happened with the P-40s, IIRC.

You are absolutely right. I talked with the toy dept manager yesterday at my local WM here in Bellingham, and he said he has container loads of toys out back with no shelf space to display. This stuff will probably not go out until after the Xmas rush. I asked about anything in XD, but the inventory listings are up to the usual WM standard. (Nothing specific)

No bubbletop sightings here yet. But a Wal-Mart manager did tell me that there are containers of toys sitting behind his store--no shelf space now. They intend to open these things up and put the toys on the shelves right before or after Christmas. We shall see.

Here's my latest gossip, talking to Far Out Toys today he said BOTH versions of the bubbletop will be in on the 17th (yes, Friday). I've got my Eileen on hold. Thank you, No more Wallmarts until the after xmas sales start. I'll let you guys know by Friday afternoon if this comes true.

Bubbletops are in and both versions are out! I picked up my Eileen around noon. If your in NorCal near San Jose, Far Out Toys has them in. I may try and get some pictures up later.

FYI, for you NorCal guys you may want to call Far Out Toys first before you drop in. He said he only has 1 Eileen and 2 Eaglestons left and will have to reorder. The good part is he just drives over to the warehouse and picks them up so reorders are fast.
I'm sure the BCA and everybody else will have them shipped out soon. Santas coming early.

The Eileen P47 has Maj G.T. Eagleston as the pilot under the cockpit. Check out the pics on the website. I had to go to Ski's site to check out who it should be (1st LT Frank Oiler). I guess 21st missed that one but the other codes look correct.

My 2cents, I would get the Eagleston P47. The yellow with silver looks good. One of the best planes out there.

I just received word that I have a package coming from BCA. As it's the only thing I have ordered from them that I've not yet received, it must be my P-47 bubbletop. Oh, happy day....
Mike
PS I'll be checking my local Wal-Marts, too!
