Well a Rommel would certainly be a very nice counter to Patton though from a British perspective they HAVE to make Monty too ;) :D LOL

I`d really like to see a few actual Generals from US,German,British sides.

As said before now they have done Merrils Marauders.I`d truely love to see Chindits Bandits being made :D

If they do put out a Monty, perhaps they can do something about that ridiculously huge beret. He always looked like a French painter. lol

I bet it rankled Rommel to no end to have lost to some guy in a bad hat. 8)

The problem with Generals and famous faces is that there is only really room for one in every collection and certainly only one in any diorama. Once you pay for the likeness and mold up a Patton, you have to put him in 3 different outfits just to crank out enough figs and if I am not mistaken he is still readily available, on sale, virtually everywhere. I have 50 BoB Closed Long Coat Infantrymen, and about 1 of each Patton. You just can't sell multiples and they invariably become the peg-warmers.

As Aferg pointed out - and I think he is right - the S1 XD German Officer has plenty of Rommel's likeness. I would just hope to get enough different DAK figures that you could bash a Rommel if you wanted - or they could stick an S1 Officer head on one for a promotional release (or with an 88 8) ).

Anyone have a spare S1 German Officer's head? Or the whole officer perhaps?

Hmm... you know, I have a sealed XD S1 German Officer 8)
I just never got around to opening it and after a while have decided not to. It came as part of a lot of carded S1 figures that I got for less than what this seller is asking for in late 2003. Further, I can remember when this same figure was going for around $2.00 on clearance at a local TRU back in 2002

Don't worry - I'm not that excited. I just think the potential for what people will sell something for, even when offered for alot less elsewhere, is kind of funny.

Having been watching for the German officer for a while, be patient. Recently, I've seen them go for not much more than a new figure. Unfortunately, those are the auctions I end up forgetting about

You might want to pick up that SS set. Parts of many of the officers released over time were used to bash those guys together. There are four various officer heads/torsos in the set.

At $90 (last I saw) or so for the full set of 16 guys it's a great fodder farm if nothing else. Test out your Wiking camo patterns, DAK, or whatever. Looks like two of the officers would make nice Panzer commanders with some touch up on their black jackets, add camo pants and some green to the cap.

Not sure how to carve the legs into shorts for DAK, but I've been looking for an excuse to get a Dremmel.

get yourself some clash of the titan figures....two of the guys have bare legs. You just cut the pants off at the knee and graft on the bare legs from the Clash figures

cheap on ebay.

aferg,

I thought about this for a minute.

Good news: Sounds like I can still justify the Dremmel :-)

Bad news: What about their feet? Keep the Titan sandals for some trendy DAK'ers, or do you just glue the original boots back on?
